Lisa Mollick Psychotherapy

Licensed Mental Health Counselor, MA, LMHC

Hi, I'm Lisa! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in private practice, providing telehealth Psychotherapy to patients in New York and Florida. I specialize in Eating Disorders, Body Image, Self-Esteem and Self-Worth, Relationships, and Life Transitions.

The particular issues I specialize in lend themselves to the core population of my practice: college students and young adults navigating the highly formative and transitional phase of emerging adulthood, as they work to discover their sense of self.

I am a proud member of the New York Mental Health Counselors Association (NYMHCA), the Academy of Eating Disorders (AED), and the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals Foundation (IAEDP) New York, Miami, South Florida and Tampa Chapters. My work has involved collaboration with esteemed organizations such as The National Alliance for Eating Disorders, Monte Nido & Affiliates, Galen Hope, The Renfrew Center, Reasons Eating Disorder Center, Columbus Park, Within Health, Balance Eating Disorder Treatment Center, and many other national eating disorder treatment centers. I am the primary referral source for the Counseling Center at the Fashion Institute of Technology (SUNY) and collaborate with the University of Miami Counseling Center and the University of Miami Health System to provide outpatient support for their students. I have partnered with the Food & Body Program (FAB) in South Miami, and lead a monthly support group for clients in their treatment program.

I am diligent and persevering in my commitment to connecting my patients with the support they need, irregardless of where they are at in their recovery process. By providing support and psycho-education to individuals and families affected by eating disorders, I create a bridge for those needing and seeking help by connecting patients with a full comprehensive out-patient team including myself, an ED-sensitive Physician, Dietitian (preferably with an Intuitive Eating and HAES approach), Psychiatrist, and Recovery Coach if need be. A multi-prong interdisciplinary approach is often essential for those in recovery, and I collaborate with some of the best ED specialists and treatment centers in NYC and Florida.

A bit about me …

With a deep passion for eating disorder recovery advocacy, I help individuals to recover from eating disorders, self-esteem, and body image issues. I strive to create a safe space and foster a genuine, compassionate, non-judgmental relationship with my clients. Acknowledging everyone’s struggle is unique, I aim to nurture self-compassion, food freedom, and body appreciation, so they may access their authentic self and full potential.

I am dedicated to creating a safe, encouraging, non-judgmental environment where they can explore and express emotions, discover proper coping mechanisms and life skills to contend with daily challenges and make empowering choices. I encourage the importance of vulnerability, authenticity, communication, self-acceptance, and positive self-talk.

I aim to provide support and education to individuals and families affected by eating disorders. I create a bridge for those needing and seeking help by connecting patients with a full comprehensive out-patient team including myself, an ED-sensitive Physician, Dietitian, and Psychiatrist, if need be. A triple-team approach is often essential for those in recovery, and I collaborate with some of the best ED specialists and treatment centers in NYC and Florida. An essential part of my practice is cultivating relationships and collaborating with in-patient treatment facilities, Dietitians, general medical practitioners, Psychiatrists, and university counseling centers. This ensures I can provide my patients with the most comprehensive treatment support team and care coordination possible.

I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from New York University’s Applied Psychology program and furthered my studies through the MA Drama Education Program at NYU. I am also a graduate of NYU’s acclaimed Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Drama.

I am licensed to practice psychotherapy in New York, and provide telehealth therapy to patients residing in Florida.
