Molly Schwartz
There’s no pressure to be perfect or “fix” yourself in this therapy room, and I will encourage exploration of what living imperfectly may feel like. Life can feel exhausting, and I am here to make space for that. I aim to support you in finding a greater sense of authenticity, community and joy in their lives.
My clinical training focused on working with clients through an intersectional lens, something that shaped my passion for feminist therapy, where oppression, power and privilege are all named in the therapy room. I recognize the privileges I hold as a white, cisgender, middle-class woman, in working with all clients. I acknowledge cultural differences in therapy, and make space for each client’s experience with any form of intersecting identities. I am well aware of the impacts of patriarchy, white supremacy, heteronormativity, cisnormativity, colonialism, and fatphobia on our mental health, and aim to integrate a decolonized lens into all work I do. I bring anti-racist, anti-oppressive and restorative justice approaches to my work and am willing to be called in by you for any missteps that may happen. The therapeutic relationship is a space where I encourage you to model your ideal relationships and communication, even when it may feel uncomfortable.
