Hello and welcome to Creative Joy Counseling. I’m Rachel, and I’m glad you’re here.

Life can be overwhelming. It often feels like there is just too much to do in too little time. Sometimes we feel stuck or afraid; in our jobs, our course of study, or in our relationships. Big life transitions can leave us feeling groundless, confused, or afraid.

Many of my clients come to therapy struggling with stressful feelings, relationships, and situations. Many seek relief from anxiety, and engage in therapy with a hope of fostering a deeper understanding about their behavioral patterns and core beliefs.

In our work together, I offer a compassionate therapeutic relationship to help nurture and guide you on a path toward your unique goals through self-compassion, empowerment and embodiment practices, and by drawing on your inherent strength and resilience. I employ a mix of therapeutic modalities, catered to your unique needs and life experience. As a dance/movement therapist, my approach blends traditional talk therapy, movement, expressive arts, mindfulness, and other embodiment practices. My therapeutic ethos is strength-based, creative, trauma-informed, compassion-focused, and client-centered. I work from an anti-racist and LGBTQIA+ affirming lens. We will progress at your pace and comfortability.

After working with me, my clients have tools to feel more at peace in their bodies, to feel lovingly connected to their inner self, and able to securely venture forth with confidence and flexibility in facing life’s challenges.

I offer counseling services virtually, and in-person at my office in Watertown, MA. Beginning a journey of therapy is a courageous act, and finding the right clinician can be a daunting first step. I invite you to reach out for a free consultation to see if we are a good fit for each other.
