Psychologist, PhD
Accepting clients Last Updated 2 days ago

Hi, I'm Salvia! I’m a licensed psychologist with extensive experience supporting college students as they navigate academic stress, relationships, past trauma, and personal growth.

Some Areas I Specialize In:

High-Stress Academic Programs
Ph.D. programs, Law School, and other demanding fields can be overwhelming. I help students manage the stress that comes with them, including burnout, imposter syndrome, perfectionism, self-criticism, and challenging relationships with research mentors and peers.

Trauma
I help students explore how past experiences continue to affect them and work toward healing in a way that feels safe and empowering.

Relationship Challenges
Whether it’s friendships, family dynamics, or romantic relationships (monogamous and non-monogamous), I support students in navigating complex interpersonal dynamics.

Climate Emotions
The reality of climate change can bring up grief, anxiety, anger, and despair. I help students process these feelings and explore ways to stay engaged.

My Approach to Therapy:
I am committed to providing trauma-informed, multicultural-oriented, LGBTQ+ affirmative, and climate-aware therapy. My approach is holistic and evidence-based, exploring each client's concerns through a sociocultural and systemic lens.

Education:
I completed my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at the University of Utah, my doctoral internship at Duke University, where I worked with students in high-stress academic programs, and a postdoctoral fellowship at UC Santa Cruz, specializing in supporting students who have experienced interpersonal trauma.
