As a woman who has gone through graduate school and post-graduate training, I can completely relate to the stress and challenges many of you are likely facing! I hope this brief info can give you a better idea of who I am and how I may be able to help you. I’m a Board-Certified Clinical Psychologist conveniently located in the Virginia highlands/Morningside area of Atlanta. I graduated with my PhD from the University of Georgia and completed both my internship and fellowship with the Emory University School of Medicine. I have extensive experience working with young adults of diverse backgrounds, in particular young professional women. I work with a wide range of presenting issues including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, cultural concerns, career/academic stress, etc. In addition to psychotherapy, our practice specializes in conducting psychological and psycho-educational evaluations for children, adolescents and young adults. Feel free to reach out and I’d be happy to chat with you further about whether we may be a good therapeutic fit. I work with young women who are tired of feeling overwhelmed with recent changes in their life and want to regain control, so they are looking for a therapist who can understand their unique challenges and be "real" with them. You want to feel connected to yourself and your loved ones, but deep down are struggling to juggle the different aspects of your life or cope with challenging experiences that have occurred recently. Maybe you have trouble recognizing who you are today, feel crippled by anxiety most of the day or can't quite communicate your needs. But one thing is for sure: you’re ready for some relief. You’re ready to find the confidence in your decision making and connect with your environment better. Most of all, you’re ready to find joy in the day-to-day again. You’re ready for a new “normal,” and I can help you get there. As an experienced life transition and trauma therapist, I believe that every woman can find freedom from pressures that are often placed on us. My training in specific treatment modalities gives me the expertise you need to reconnect with yourself. You don’t have to continue feeling alone. Call me today for a free 15-min consultation, I can't wait to hear from you.

I know what it feels like to hate your body, spend every waking moment thinking about food, constantly comparing yourself to others, and dealing with the sadness associated with not 'fitting in'. Throughout my experiences working with adults and children, I've witnessed entire transformations that come only as a result of addressing both physical needs and our individual psychological hurdles. I'll work with you to find solutions and tackle stressors, including those caused by low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, chronic dieting, or relationships. As a Body Love Coach and Licensed Professional Counselor, I work to equip women and girls with the knowledge, tools, and support they need in order to ROCK regardless of their weight or body image. **I'm in-network for Amerigroup, Blue Cross Blue Shield/Anthem, CareSource, Humana, and Peach State. I also provide therapy virtually and in the community.

I have been working with college students and young adults for over 25 years. Struggling with school when there are personal problems can be very demanding and can sometimes trigger anxiety, depression, or impulsive behaviors leading to additional problems. Let me help you feel safe, in-control and productive so thaty you may return to or develop the kind of lifestyle that leads to academic, personal and interpersonal success and happiness.

When I was a sophomore in college I was diagnosed with a chronic illness. It was a devastating time for me, juggling numerous doctor’s appointments, going to school, having a part-time job, and witnessing the beginning of the end of my parents’ marriage. I eventually got to a point a few years later, after getting married and moving away from home, that I just couldn’t continue pretending like everything was okay. Getting out of bed was a struggle, and so was being motivated to do anything. That was the first time I seeked out therapy, and it had a profound impact on my life. I was able to find new purpose and confidence, which started my own journey of being a counselor, because I wanted to help other people through their tough times. Now I am fortunate to be able to support other women as they work through the difficult periods of their lives, redefining themselves, setting goals, and finding renewed purpose. Let me assist you in doing just that!
