At Stonegate Counseling Associates, we believe in a holistic, client-centered approach to mental health. Our practice is grounded in evidence-based therapeutic techniques with deep respect for each individual’s personal values, beliefs, and life experiences. This means our therapists are skilled in integrating Biblical values and Christian beliefs into counseling when desired, while also respecting and effectively supporting clients from diverse backgrounds and belief systems.
I believe every one of us is a good person at heart, we are all trying our best and laziness is a myth. You may have a hard time believing that about yourself. You may have been taught (by families or systems) that you are bad, lazy or selfish. You are scared to make decisions or trust your intuition. You want to love yourself the way you love others! I offer a radically different perspective. I think it is possible to love yourself a little bit at a time, take things less personally and create more space in your life for peace.
Young adulthood is tough, and I love helping my clients learn how to balance the stress of college with the rest of their life. I have worked with many young adults who struggle with perfectionism or burnout. For specific treatment concerns, I specialize in working with young adults struggling with anxiety, panic attacks, OCD, ADHD/AuDHD, BFRBs (skin picking/hair pulling), and insomnia/sleep optimization. I can help if you're curious if you have a specific diagnosis and want to learn more, or if you're looking to understand yourself better and feel like you have the tools you need to handle whatever life throws your way. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and experienced in working with these clients. My office is about 5 min from the KSU campus in Kennesaw, and I see clients virtually as well.
I understand that life can sometimes feel overwhelming. Emotions can be intense, and it’s not always easy to navigate the challenges they bring. I’m here to help you find balance, build resilience, and take control of your emotional well-being. I hope to provide you with a safe, non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts and feelings. I believe that healing and growth begins with understanding, acceptance, and self-compassion. I provide services for adolescents and adults, and primarily see clients for anxiety, depression, personality disorders, grief and loss, trauma, family and relationship issues, and major life transitions. Whether you are trying out therapy for the first time, seeking to find a better therapy fit, or simply wanting to return to therapy work, don’t wait to start your journey towards a more balanced and fulfilling life.
Do you find yourself constantly second-guessing what you said, worrying about what others think, or feeling stuck in a cycle of overthinking? Or maybe your childhood seemed normal, yet deep down something still feels off? You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck in old patterns, or carrying the effects of past experiences that still shape your present. You want to feel safer in your body, more grounded in your emotions, and more connected to yourself and others. I work with adults who are ready for meaningful change and want a therapist who brings warmth, clarity, and evidence-based tools to support deep, sustainable healing. With training in EMDR, CBT, DBT, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, I blend evidence-based tools with a deeply client-centered approach. My goal is to help you understand your patterns, regulate your emotions, & reconnect with the strengths you may have lost sight of so you can feel more grounded, empowered, & more like yourself. You might be stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. You might be working really hard to break free from old coping strategies that once helped you survive. Together, we can work to build safety, clarity, and confidence moving forward. I know how hard it is to break out of those patterns.
I offer individual therapy for personal growth and relationships. My practice focuses on creating a comfortable, welcoming, and grounded atmosphere for clients to grow and find meaning. My office is not a typical stuffy doctor's office experience. I believe in showing people a lot of love and lending them a compassionate ear. I look for the positive and lean more toward growth and empowerment instead of disorders. My focus is to help people live well and overcome their obstacles. Everyone deserves to find meaning and joy in their lives.
My pronouns are she/her/hers. I offer both individual therapy and psychological assessment. Assessment can be used to evaluate for concerns like ADHD or autism, screen for learning challenges, track changes in neurological functioning, and more. For assessment, I see clients 5 years and older. For individual therapy, I see clients age 14 and older. I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and coping with life changes. I also used to work at universities and know the unique experiences and challenges college students face. For any therapist you work with, one of the most important pieces is connection. I may not be the right therapist for everyone and that is perfectly ok. Find who you mesh with and who works for you, and you will give yourself the best chance of success! I believe that therapy is only part of your journey. When we meet, I want to know not only what is upsetting you but also what your goals and hopes are for the future. My goal is to stand with you as you gain the power to reclaim the parts of your life you want to improve. If you feel a connection with me, therapy can be a place to learn more about yourself, challenge worries, process past and current strife, and more. I can be a witness, guide, support, and collaborator. We will work together to get you through this.
ONLINE ONLY! In my view, psychotherapy serves different purposes at different stages of one's life. For young adults, one of the key tasks at hand is to discover their potential, talents, weaknesses, fears, wants and needs, and to manage relationships at various levels of emotional intimacy. In this process, many of us need to clarify past issues and unresolved conflicts to move forward more freely. My practice is informal, relaxed and friendly, and most of my clients come from multicultural and multiracial backgrounds, and I treasure diversity. I am comfortable working in English, Portuguese and Spanish languages.
I’m Ellen Burt Baker, LPC, and I’ve been honored to walk alongside individuals on their healing journeys for over 25 years. My practice offers a heart-centered, safe, and compassionate space where you can explore, heal, and grow exactly as you are. My approach to therapy is heart-centered, intuitive, and grounded in both clinical skill and body-brain healing modalities. I integrate powerful techniques such as Brainspotting, EMDR, EFT/Tapping, Hypnotherapy, and IADC® to support deep transformation. When requested, I also incorporate heart-centered practices to support your process holistically. I work with a variety of clients - those healing from trauma, managing anxiety or depression, navigating life decisions or transitions, or exploring their spiritual path. Many of my clients are reconnecting with their own intuition and inner wisdom, and I consider it a privilege to support that journey. I specialize in working with people who have already done some therapeutic work and are ready to go deeper—to move through the blocks and barriers that may still be holding them back. I meet each client exactly where they are. Our work together is a true partnership. I offer a space that is affirming and always welcoming. I bring warmth, humor, and a supportive presence into every session, helping clients feel seen, heard, and empowered.
Dawn specializes in developmental (what happened to you when you were a kid) and relational (what hurt you in relationships) trauma through the lens of attachment helping you look at your relationships with clear eyes. Often we bring into our relationships ways of being that while helpful when we were younger now may no longer serve us. Therapy can build on the strengths you already have and disrupt those that are no longer useful. In addition to working with trauma Dawn works with individuals to cope with adjustment/life transitions, anxiety, identity concerns and relationship concerns. Dawn utilizes a variety of therapy modalities including: EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing), EFIT (Emotion Focused Individual Therapy) IFS (Internal Family Systems)-informed/DNMS (Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy), Mindful Self Compassion and Somatic practices. She comes from a strengths-based, person-centered perspective and will collaborate with you to create a treatment plan that honors all aspects of your identity. Dawn is passionate about working people with marginalized and intersecting identities and strongly believes that the things that make us different are often our super powers. Works with individuals 20+
It is incredibly important to have a space where you can just be you. My hope is to provide a comfortable place to talk and process life events, to celebrate successes and to navigate through challenges. There are so many different areas of life that are important, and balancing them all, while finding time to process it all can be challenging. Sometimes dealing with family relationships while away at school can be hard, especially when they are changing and shifting. At times, learning to navigate anxiety and expectations for school and peers can be overwhelming. Figuring out how to balance it all can be a big task. My goal is to support and help you find ways to grow and learn, and navigate these times so that you can be and become who you want to be.

Thank you for considering me to be part of your journey. My name is Allia (she/her), and for my clients, I provide a safe and healing place to grow. For the past four years, I’ve worked as a therapist and advocate for child and adult survivors of abuse and sexual assault. And through this work, I have honed my skills in helping people through trauma, transitions, self-worth issues, and identity. I work with a wide range of clients and survivors and particularly gravitate towards individuals within the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities and young adults. Each person is different and thus, each treatment plan is individualized to meet that person’s needs. And in working together, I will follow your lead and meet you where you are. I look forward to working together!

At Stillwell Athens, we offer both individual counseling and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) to support college students and all young adults who are navigating emotional, relational, or life transitions. We provide different levels of care so clients can access the amount of support they need, whether that’s weekly therapy or more structured, consistent treatment, without stepping away from school, work, or daily responsibilities. Our approach is relational, developmentally informed, and evidence-based. We work with individuals, couples, and families using modalities such as CBT and DBT, alongside experiential and creative approaches when appropriate. We regularly support college students and young adults adjusting to independence, academic or career stress, and relationship challenges, as well as adults and parents managing changing family dynamics, identity shifts, and major life decisions. For those who need more than individual therapy alone, our IOP provides increased structure, group support, and clinical care while remaining fully outpatient. This option is well-suited for clients who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or in need of additional accountability and connection. 10-15 hours of therapeutic support per week. At Stillwell, we focus on helping our clients build insight, develop practical skills, and strengthen the supports that allow for meaningful, sustainable change. You don't have to put your life on hold or compromise your mental health and wellbeing.
