The college/university experience is a unique transition point where many individuals face new challenges and often overwhelming situations. In my practice, I provide a collaborative and safe environment, ensuring you are not alone in facing these challenges. Whether you are dealing with emergent anxiety or mood issues, managing complex family dynamics, navigating questions about identity, belonging, or worth, or dealing with the pain of grief, my warm, engaging, and culturally relevant approach works in tandem with psychodynamic and evidence-based strategies to help you to identify tools that allow you to understand and cope with whatever you face. As we work together, I am committed to helping you survive and thrive by helping you know where you currently stand, identify where you desire to go and create actionable steps to get there. I am licensed to conduct telehealth sessions with individuals in Georgia and New York.
Greetings! I'm Viola & I'm deeply committed to helping people understand & accept their entire selves. As a neurodivergent clinician, I am familiar with the discomfort that comes from lacking a holistic understanding of one's self. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been captivated by the question: “Why do we, as humans, do what we do?” Ten years into my career, that fascination has only grown. I’ve spent years mapping the way our brain, conditioning, and hidden beliefs drive our behaviors and more importantly, how we can better understand them. But here’s the truth: talk therapy alone doesn’t always go deep enough. That’s why I integrated Shadow Work into my practice. When you explore the parts of yourself you’ve buried—the fears, shame, and old wounds, you stop running from them and start reclaiming your power. That’s where profound healing happens. I don’t believe in surface-level fixes. I believe in bold, lasting transformation. If you’re ready to stop avoiding the parts of yourself that scare you, and start living as your most authentic, unapologetic self, you’re exactly where you need to be. So I strive to create a space for you to safely sit with the confusion or discomfort of your past that led to behaviors not representative of your true self. You cannot live authentically when you deny parts of yourself that you believe to be less than or undesirable!

Hello! I'm so glad you're here! I work with folks who have learned to survive and navigate the world by making themselves small, putting their heads down, and doing the hard things that no one else will. They are intelligent, resourceful, and strong, so it is tempting to feel like if they try harder, think more, or be less themselves- all their feelings, challenges, or circumstances will change. But that hasn't been working. Often, they find themselves at the end of their rope, exhausted, disappointed, and unable to trust anyone- even themselves. If that sounds like you, I’m here to tell you- you are not alone. You deserve to be the fullest version of yourself with all the gentleness, acceptance, and support you dreamed of at the end of that rope. My goal for my clients is to work together to untangle the web of experiences, beliefs, and expectations that makes them feel stuck in survival mode, find healing, and move forward with self-compassion and hope. I view my role in therapy as a partner and a safe environment for my clients as they learn to hear, trust, and use their voices after the world has worked tirelessly to keep them quiet. I thrive in the real, raw, and grounded parts of life and hold space for my clients as they learn to unpack, access, and integrate their truth in those areas.
The hardest part about getting help is that first step where we have to ask. It takes a lot of courage to admit we don't have the right tools for the job, especially when that job is our happiness. Maybe we push people away, or get angry out of nowhere, or carry so much stress we can't sleep. Burnout and depression weigh us down and make it hard to connect with those around us. Our sessions are active and genuine. I work in session to help lower anxiety, build confidence, work through trauma, and to face fear courageously. Our sessions will spend time understanding your values and goals and what you need. I want you to feel like your time was well spent in our sessions. You've already started your journey of getting help and building your skills for a more fulfilling life, and that's awesome! It'll be hard but the fact that you've already begun shows you have strength. If this resonates with you, then I look forward to hearing from you!
As a counselor my goal is to help people find inner peace, fulfillment, and purpose in their lives. I earned my B.S. in Psychology from Georgia Gwinnett College (2017), and my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Richmont Graduate University (2019). I welcome individuals or couples of any gender, race, ethnicity, religion, background, and sexual orientation. I am also comfortable integrating your religious beliefs into your therapeutic process, if you desire.

My experience working in this field has taught me that most people want to thrive and do well; however, they do not always have the tools needed to do so. As a Clinician, my passion is to inform, inspire, and increase an individual’s self-awareness by creating an individualized plan that foster’s positive personal effectiveness. I became a therapist to assist clients with uncovering the core of their concerns/issues. I partner with the client to create problem solving techniques and coping skills that can be utilized to address those concerns/issues. It is my belief that anyone can benefit from receiving individualized care that can increase self-esteem, decrease stress factors, and improve communication. “I have learned now that while those who speak about one’s miseries usually hurt, those who keep silence hurt more.” - Clive Staples Lewis Beginning the process of therapy can be intimidating, overwhelming, and scary. I completely understand and have been where you are. Sitting in silence only prolongs the inevitable. Trying to resolve the problem with the help of a friend or loved one eases the burden temporarily but you may not get to the core. Working with a trusted therapist, you begin to understand your deeper thought processes, the ineffective loops you’re likely stuck in, and the fear-based thoughts holding you back. I help people struggling with stress, depression, anxiety, trauma, and relational conflicts. I begin where you stand now. I move slowly, gently, and respectfully towards the goals we create together. My therapeutic approach includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for trauma, and Systemic Family Therapy. Some of my past experiences include working with individuals and couples in several private practice locations over the years, an inpatient drug/alcohol addiction treatment center, and at a U.S. Air Force base helping military members and their families. I also worked as a mental health counselor in a close-security prison for 3 ½ years helping male inmates struggling with mental health issues. A few fun facts about me: I spent 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and have lived in multiple countries and states. I've been married to my beautiful bride for over 20 years and we are empty nesters (if you don't count our 4 pets)!
