You’ve spent years pushing through, holding it together, and trying to figure things out on your own. You may understand why you struggle, yet anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, relationship difficulties, burnout, or self-doubt continue to affect your life. Therapy can help you move beyond insight and begin creating meaningful, lasting change. As a bilingual Latinx & BIPOC therapist serving adults throughout Illinois, I provide culturally responsive therapy for people who are ready to better understand themselves, heal old patterns, and actively work toward change. My approach integrates IFS (Internal Family Systems), parts work, inner child healing, CBT, mindfulness, and trauma-informed therapy. Together, we can uncover the patterns behind anxiety, emotional distress, relationship struggles, and feeling disconnected from yourself. I also specialize in men’s mental health, including self-worth, anger, boundaries, vulnerability, cultural expectations, relationships, and developing more authentic connections with yourself and others. Therapy with me is compassionate, collaborative, and active. We’ll explore the parts of you carrying pain, challenge patterns that no longer serve you, and develop greater confidence, emotional awareness, and self-trust. If you’re looking for a therapist who will support you while also encouraging deeper reflection and growth, we may be a good fit. También ofrezco terapia en español. I provide online therapy and telehealth for adults throughout Illinois. Schedule a free 10-minute consultation to see if working together feels right.
Mercedes Yates-Jones
I’m Mercedes Yates-Jones, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Illinois and Virginia. I am also the founder of Safe to Say Therapy located in Winfield, IL. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and have spent over a decade helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges. Before starting my private practice, I worked with the Department of Veteran Affairs and in several private practice settings, supporting clients with a wide range of needs. I also have experience in inpatient psychiatric care, which has shaped my calm and steady presence when clients are feeling overwhelmed or facing difficult moments. I work with children ages 10 and up, adolescents, and adults who are dealing with anxiety, depression, burnout, academic stress, relationship concerns, life transitions, or periods of feeling stuck. I also have a heart for supporting students, veterans, parents, caregivers, and individuals from underserved communities. I created Safe to Say Therapy because I believe everyone deserves a space where they feel safe, understood, and truly supported. My goal is to meet you with warmth and authenticity and walk alongside you as you move toward clarity, confidence, and meaningful change, at a pace that feels right for you.
ATW Professional Counseling
Navigating the college years is amazing and low key terrifying at times. Things happen when we get out on our own. We don't always want to turn to certain people for a variety of reasons - privacy, embarrassment, or maybe feeling like you should know how to handle it and you are realizing you need some guidance. Money issues, social dynamics, romantic interactions, or becoming independent from our family of origin, are all things that can really kick us in the teeth when we strike out on our own. It's normal to become overwhelmed by the emotions and awareness. Issues from our past might catch up to us as well. That's shocking particularly if life is grand otherwise. Therapy can help get a grip on emotions and create a secure foundation to evaluate self worth as well as process complicated scenarios. I hope to hear from you!
Aloo Ragwar, PMHNP-BC
As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I integrate a medical-model approach with supportive therapy to provide compassionate, comprehensive care. While diagnostic labels can help guide medication decisions, my focus is on understanding the deeper context of your challenges—exploring symptom triggers, emotional meanings, and how relationships influence your coping style. Mutual respect and trust are the foundation of my practice, and I am committed to creating a relaxed, non-judgmental space where honesty, transparency, and collaboration empower you to take an active role in your treatment. I treat a wide range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, addiction, OCD, complex grief, and chronic illnesses. Together, we’ll work toward authentic growth, healthier choices, and a more positive outlook on life.
Charlie Health
Charlie Health is a virtual behavioral health program for adolescents and young adults with moderate or severe mental health concerns or co-occurring substance use or eating disorders. Designed to meet the needs of those who require more than weekly therapy, our program combines curated group therapy, individual therapy, and family therapy into personalized treatment programs. We are helping to serve those who are in crisis, or have been historically underserved, by eliminating the most significant treatment barriers: geographical and financial access. We work with nearly all commercial insurance nationwide and have no waitlist, thereby helping people access quality, evidence-based care regardless of insurance, location, or other barriers.
Sarah Hilz
I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse individuals. I have experience assisting people in working on mood and anxiety disorders, grief and identity exploration.

Relational trauma can make you feel like you’re not good enough and somehow too much at the same time. You might be hyper aware of others' needs which leaves you feeling emotionally exhausted. You over-function in relationships and struggle with conflict and boundaries due to fear of rejection. No matter what you do, it feels like you’re a supporting character in the cast of your own life. You may have developed these parts of yourself in order to feel safe, but what would life look like if you could shed old scripts and live authentically with emotional balance and self-trust? Let’s explore how trauma and loss may influence the way you interact with the world around you. I prefer a more holistic approach to therapy and don’t believe that we can always think our way out of something. I’m interested in helping you develop healthy relationships with others, but more importantly your relationship with yourself.
Ethan Norwood, LCSW
I work with adolescents, young adults, and adults who appear high functioning but feel overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally stuck. Many are navigating trauma, anxiety, or depression rooted in earlier life or relationship patterns, particularly those from BIPOC communities seeking culturally responsive care. I help clients slow down, understand these patterns, and build emotional regulation, clarity, and more stable ways of relating to themselves and others. I provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive therapy. My approach is collaborative and practical, helping you develop insight, regulate emotions, and create lasting change. Spiritual integration, including Christian faith, is available if desired. If you have been holding it together on the outside but struggling internally, you are not alone. Therapy is a space to slow down, feel understood, and begin making meaningful changes. I provide accommodation letters for clients needing documentation for school or work. Healing should fit your life. When you are ready, reaching out is a powerful first step.
