Are you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or just not feeling like you’re firing on all cylinders? Maybe you're feeling burnt out from life or work. Life throws heavy stuff at us, and sometimes, we need a partner to figure it out. That’s where I come in; I’m just a real person helping other real people. The idea of talking to a therapist can be scary- maybe you’re not ready to share your whole story, and that’s okay. My job is to help you figure out what you want to work on and go from there. I believe therapy is a safe place where we can come up with solutions to some of the challenges you may be experiencing. I take a strengths-based approach and will pepper in some humor as well. I am skilled at helping clients with various challenges, but I consider my expertise to be helping people who are dealing with anxiety, depression, caregivers for others, healthcare workers, people dealing with chronic illness, and people going through life transitions. My goal is to help you feel like the best version of yourself. If you are looking for a real and authentic person who will be your partner in this shitshow we call life, and not just someone asking you "how does that make you feel" and head nodding, then I'm your girl! Dr. Rebecca Patkunas (Hans)
Your first session is simply the beginning. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out. We’ll start by getting to know each other and talking about what is bringing you to therapy. I’ll ask questions to better understand your experiences, your strengths, and what feels most important to focus on right now. Therapy is a collaborative process, and this first meeting is about taking those initial steps together. We’ll begin identifying your goals and what meaningful change would look like for you. Just as importantly, this is your opportunity to see how it feels to work with me. A strong therapeutic fit matters, and I want you to feel comfortable, supported, and confident moving forward!

Bret Bertrand
Hi, my name is Bret Bertrand, and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor here at Integrative Family Counseling. I received my Masters in Mental Health Counseling from National Louis University and previously earned my B.A. from Illinois State University. My goal as a therapist is to welcome, encourage, and motivate people to move forward in life. For the past 25 years, it has been a privilege to journey alongside many individuals, couples, and families through the transitions and challenges of life. I have worked with those moving from overseas and am familiar with transitional issues and starting over. I also have experience counseling the incarcerated who face addiction, shame, trauma, grief, and family conflict. While we cannot change the difficult experiences from the past, we can strive together to understand and overcome any negative impact you currently have in your life. I believe together we can develop a path toward healing, health, and freedom to keep moving forward.

In Situ Counseling & Coaching
In Situ Counseling & Coaching offers a grounded, personalized approach to mental health care for individuals navigating stress, transitions, and personal growth. My work is rooted in helping people better understand themselves, make meaningful changes, and feel more in control of their lives. I primarily work with college students, young adults, and professionals who may be dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD-related challenges, relationship concerns, or uncertainty about their direction. Many of the individuals I support are high-achieving or highly self-aware, yet still feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected. My approach is collaborative and practical. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, we look at patterns, choices, and the underlying factors shaping your experiences. Drawing from Reality Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy, I aim to create a space where you feel understood while also being gently challenged to move forward in ways that align with your goals. Whether you’re working through a specific challenge or simply trying to better understand yourself, therapy can be a place to slow down, gain clarity, and start making changes that actually stick.

Jessie Shanks Counseling, Inc
Hello, some of my strengths include identifying and cultivating strengths in others, giving language to complex feelings, detangling complex issues and finding paths to wholeness. My goal in therapy is to support others to reach their personal goals and even help them identify what those may be if they are unsure. My ideal Patient is motivated to change and open to trying various techniques. I'm dual licensed in the States of Massachusetts and Illinois and provide only Teletherapy. I've been in clinical practice since 2013, yet have 20 years of experience through mentoring young adults. One of my strongest areas of expertise is healing from trauma, of all kinds. What I often find in practice are Patients unaware of neglect and abandonment that they have lived through. I support Patients in identifying pain, creating space to grieve and heal, and creating a new way to experience life alive.

I earned a Master of Science in Nursing degree specializing in Psychiatry from The University of Texas at Arlington. I am proud to say I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I am a true believer that not one of my fellow humans is immune to stress, anxiety, and feelings of sadness at some point in their life. We all find ourselves feeling vulnerable at times. It is completely normal to question why we feel the emotions that we do, why we seem to fall apart at times, and better yet, how we can get through it all in one beautiful piece. I think the first step to meaningful recovery from anxiety, depression, complex mental illness, and/or substance use is to reach out and ask for help. It is a difficult, but very brave action. I am not one to judge, look down on, question your past experiences, or current situation. I am very good at rationally breaking down a situation and I can offer practical advice and medication suggestions depending on your goal in mind. Karos Counseling
College can look manageable from the outside while you feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from the experience you thought you would have. Maybe you are falling behind, avoiding classes, procrastinating until panic sets in, struggling to get out of bed, worrying constantly, or questioning whether you belong. You do not have to wait until everything falls apart before asking for support. I work well with students dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, low motivation, perfectionism, OCD, relationship difficulties, identity-related stress, or major life changes. I also support student-athletes navigating performance anxiety, confidence, pressure, setbacks, and the challenge of balancing their sport with the rest of college life. My style is warm, honest, practical, and collaborative. I also use humor when it fits. Serious work does not require every moment to feel heavy, and laughing together can sometimes make it easier to step back and see a problem differently. I specialize in TEAM-CBT, which means we will take time to understand what you are experiencing, agree on what you want from therapy, and use methods fitted to your goals. We will talk about what is happening, but we will also actively work toward meaningful change. Most appointments are virtual. Depending on where your college is located, occasional in-person sessions may also be available. Because I can provide therapy in multiple states, I may be able to continue working with you when you return home during academic breaks. Take care, Teddy
