Are you looking for a different type of therapist who can understand your concerns? Someone who can help you make the changes you are looking for in your life. Are your feelings and emotions taking up too much space in your life leaving you feeling unmotivated and unaccomplished? Whether you are going through a life transition, struggling with work, or needing help with managing your trauma experiences; I will help you regain the control you are looking for in your life. I can help you make the life changes and adjustments needed to improve your life satisfaction and achieve the goals you are setting for yourself. I am a nontraditional therapist. I don't just sit back and listen to you talk. I challenge your heart and soul to help you achieve your personal goals. As a licensed therapist with over 20 years of experience helping those improve their functioning and mental wellness, I specialize in helping those impacted by anxiety, depression, and PTSD / trauma. You will find that my humanistic approach will help you feel more confident about your decision to prioritize your mental health. As an eclectic clinician, I use CBT & DBT mixing in Coaching, Solution-Focused and Reality-Based techniques. I also use humor, story-telling, and psychoeducation to better help you achieve the goals you set for yourself.
Allison Anich, LCSW
Being a young adult can feel especially overwhelming. You’re expected to build a life, make big decisions, and manage responsibilities—often while still making sense of your past. The impact of trauma, stress, or difficult experiences earlier in life can add another layer of confusion, making it harder to trust yourself or feel grounded in who you are. I offer a supportive space where we can explore your experiences, process what you’ve been through, and find a way forward that feels true to you. In our work together, I offer expressive arts therapy as an additional tool to support healing and self-understanding. This can include drawing, writing, or other forms of creative expression, guided by your comfort. You don’t need to be artistic. Creative processes can help access feelings and experiences that are difficult to put into words. Whether you’re feeling lost, stuck, or simply curious about how therapy might help, I welcome the opportunity to connect. Therapy can offer a space to make sense of your past and strengthen your sense of self in the present. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can talk about your goals, answer questions, and discuss if working together is a good fit.

As an inclusive therapist and adopted individual, I create a therapeutic space that feels safe, supportive, and honors the intersectionality of your identity. My experience centers around working with children, adolescents, and adults, and I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, depression, grief, identity exploration, trauma, in addition to obsessive-compulsive and related disorders. Wherever you are in your journey, my goal is to meet you with openness and a genuine desire to understand your experience. Through a person-centered approach, I draw from evidence-based practices like cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure and response prevention, dialectical behavior therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. Mindful that therapy is as individual as you are, I take time to get to know what matters to you and tailor our work to fit your values and goals. I am committed to therapeutic work where all aspects of you are acknowledged, respected, and valued. At the core of my practice is upholding cultural humility, and I would be honored to walk alongside you and provide a space where you can learn, regulate, and reflect.

In our sessions, you'll l find a safe space to explore your personal history and encounter internal thought patterns, behaviors, and emotions while reclaiming a path toward security and equilibrium. Smart Behavior Solutions
We started Smart Behavior Solutions with the goal of going against the grain. While most therapy practices use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as a means to modify thought patterns to change moods & behaviors, we use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help patients recognize and accept the many aspects of life. ACT helps patients understand who they are and choose the associated beneficial behaviors. These behaviors are based on the most important people & things in life. Our therapists work with you to create change.

Growing up, I did not know much about mental health and therapy until I was in my own crisis. I was greatly impacted by mental health stigma that has had such a big impact of my Latinx community, and my own experience. I understand stigma is something that many different communities may face, and I hope to help break down that stigma so people can openly receive the help they need. After reaching out for help myself, I was able to start living up to a better version of myself. Now I hope to provide similar hope to others. I believe therapy is not just a tool to be used when you are at your lowest, but a resource in instances of uncertainty, challenge and life transitions. You have unique experiences and have been impacted by the systems that surround you whether they are cultural, familial, religious or something else. My goal is to work hand-in-hand with you to create an empathic space where you can share your feelings and work through learned patterns to discover what serves you best today. Together, we can start the healing process, using with self-awareness, exploring the past, gaining empowerment, and creating meaningful changes within your life and relationships. I have been a clinician with Active Therapies for the past year. Active Therapies offers in person therapy in North Park, Ravenswood and Telehealth.
