Stressful life events and trauma can lead to disconnection from one’s self and others. This disconnection can manifest as anxiety, depression, and loneliness. Through therapy, you can heal and build a more connected and fulfilling life. As a Clinical Psychologist with 18 years psychotherapy experience, I work with individuals and couples integrating cognitive behavioral, interpersonal, and existential approaches to therapy. Therapy might involve coping skills, emotional awareness, mind-body connection, learning new ways of thinking and interacting to improve quality of life and relationships, and finding meaning. My areas of clinical focus include life transitions, anxiety, grief, interpersonal relationships, trauma, PTSD, C-PTSD, and sexuality. Integrative in nature, I draw from cognitive behavior therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, existential, interpersonal and mindfulness modalities. Feeling more overwhelmed than usual? Noticing the weight of past experiences getting in your way? Looking to move toward healing? Wanting to lean into a healthier version of yourself? These types of thoughts are common. We all struggle, at times, with how we react to different situations. Our life experiences and environments have an affect on our thoughts, feelings and emotions. I believe that you are capable of breaking patterns that no longer serve you and finding your way towards a more intentional and fulfilling life. I offer support in your growth towards more ease and grounding no matter the circumstance. I will offer you a secure space that is welcoming and open to all as well as filled with compassion, acceptance, and curiosity. I believe that you will find me easily approachable and responsive to your unique needs and experiences. I hold a relational focus because the connection that you and I create is essential for the work it takes to get you closer to what you are looking for in your life. I am authentic and honest in my approach because we are humans coming together in a common experience that requires trust and vulnerability to be able to work on hard things together.

My undergraduate focus was in math and science. However, through the years I decided that relationships were more important and realized that most individuals don't have the tools to form good marriage, family, and friendship connections. Much of this is the result of poor parenting that leaves an individual fearful, without confidence, and having no idea how to navigate life's challenges. Children are precious and deserve to feel loved and secure. This is difficult if their parents weren't nurtured and shown how (primarily by example) to have a loving marriage. We deserve love in marriage, and our children need that example. My graduate studies at the University of Southern California were in sociology (sex and gender focus) and marriage and family therapy. I have years of experience in parenting, responding to domestic violence, treating pornography addiction, and helping clients who are depressed and/or anxious.
