Licensed in New York and Massachusetts- I bring 20 years of experience working with college students from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Together, I've helped students navigate unexpected life changes, feelings of grief and loss, anger, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, spiritual questions, identity exploration and trauma as well as the many other complex emotions and challenges that life can bring. No matter what has brought you to this place, my goal is to build a trusting and supportive relationship where we can explore your experience, your strengths and your motivation for change. I take a wholehearted approach to your psychological, emotional and relational well-being, and I seek to honor your whole person by exploring the integrated aspects of your environment and other important factors that have played an active role in shaping your exterior and interior life. Together we will pursue deeper questions and connections related to your whole self including your emotional and physical health, your history, your relationships, your work, your habits and your interests among the other dimensions that make you uniquely you. Currently, I offer licensed mental health therapy through confidential Telehealth, an alternative to in-person therapy that helps you save time, money and energy while providing opportunities for you to make progress and achieve significant milestones. I look forward to being part of this first, courageous step towards change and helping you become the best version of you.
All of you is welcome here. At the root of my therapeutic approach is the belief that every person is worthy of compassion, support, and the experience of feeling seen. I view my role as a therapist being a mirror, a flashlight, and a map—with the destination ultimately decided by the client. I see the treatment-planning process as a unique art form. The subject of the art—the treatment goals—is determined by the client, while I offer the materials: the therapeutic modalities and tools. I draw from a variety of theories and approaches, ranging from psychotherapy and somatic therapy to parts work, CBT, and DBT, to name just a few. All of my work is approached through a cultural and trauma-informed lens, beginning with our initial call. Another essential ingredient in all of my individual and group sessions is psychoeducation. I am an active therapist, which to me means I will not only reflect what I hear you sharing but also connect it to other things you've shared; ask questions to deepen our exploration; connect your experiences to relevant theories and concepts; and, if you’d like, share skills, practices, and tools. Some of my areas of clinical strength, which may be less commonly represented in the field, include Complex PTSD (CPTSD), bipolar disorder, and ethical non-monogamy (ENM).
I enjoy working with clients that are motivated to make meaningful changes to address challenges in their lives and want to move beyond surviving to thriving. I strive to create a therapeutic space in which people feel safe to be vulnerable and affirmed in their experiences. I am passionate about supporting folks to better manage anxiety, depression, race based stress and trauma, cultural identity issues and major life transitions.
I am a licensed mental health practitioner with 13 years of experience and specialized certification in child and family forensics. I support individuals as they navigate trauma, anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, intimate partner violence, forensic and legal challenges, and major life transitions. My approach cultivates self-awareness within the unique context of each client’s social identities, drawing on multidisciplinary methods such as CBT applied through a social justice lens. I tailor my techniques to individual needs, fostering a supportive and collaborative therapeutic relationship.
Welcome! I'm a therapist who helps college/graduate students and young professionals move from feeling anxious, stuck and unsure to secure, at ease, and fulfilled. Whether it’s feelings of uncertainty about your college and career path, struggles with self-esteem and perfectionism, or adjusting to a new medical diagnosis, you know you’re ready to make changes in your life. Many of the people I work with identify as high-achievers who have “taken all the right steps”, yet are still feeling anxious or uncertain. On paper, they are doing great and seem to have it all together, but inside they’re struggling with feelings of imposter syndrome or like they don’t know if they’re on the right path. I'm here to help you gain the tools and skills necessary to thrive in the face of challenges. Together, we will identify your goals and work collaboratively with an individualized and strengths-based approach. Through our work, we will spend some time exploring your past while also ensuring that we’re taking action-oriented steps to keep you moving forward.
I specialize in supporting folks who are navigating the impacts of complex trauma. Complex trauma can occur as a result of violence in the home, relationships, school systems, community environments, the workplace, & systemic oppression. I take an in-depth, trauma-informed psychodynamic approach to therapy that feels accessible and relational in nature. With an in-depth approach to therapy, I strive to create a safe space for clients as they process difficult emotions, identify patterns, dismantle shame blockages, and repair intrapersonal trust. My approach to therapy works well for those who are seeking a deeper exploration of themselves and the world around them. In our first session together, you can expect me to be compassionate, curious, and highly attentive as I begin to know you at a pace that feels right for you.

As a therapist and yoga teacher, I strive to provide a welcoming space where clients feel comfortable expressing themselves and supported in achieving their treatment goals. We will explore a variety of therapeutic techniques together and I am committed to helping you discover what works best for you. My therapeutic style is collaborative and strength-based. I draw upon a myriad of clinical interventions including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based stress reduction, self-compassion research, as well as various yogic and meditative practices. Hi! My name is Maya Rogers-Bursen, and I am a licensed mental health counselor and art therapist. I was adopted from India when I was six months old and my narrative has shaped the work I love doing with adoptees, and families in the adoption constellation. I am a transracial adoptee with a private practice focused in supporting those navigate the ups and downs of the adoption journey. I named my practice Chandani Post Adoption Counseling - Chandani is my birth name. It means moonlight in Hindi, a place I often look towards when I think about birth family (feel free to read more of my story on my website – Chandanicounseling.com) Adoption trauma refers to loss. Loss of birth family/culture, identity/connection. Themes that may come up in our work look similar to loss, grief, birth/adoptive family, communication, identity development, shame, guilt, sense of belonging, transracial adoption, race/culture, international adoption, family dynamics, anxiety, worry, fear, relationships. It’s my goal to hold space for the everyday moments while looking at things through an adoption lens. If you are looking to learn more about yourself in relation to adoption, I welcome the opportunity to be in conversation together! * If you are not an adoptee but my profile sparks interest, please reach out and we can decide together if it feels like a good fit!
I believe that everyone has the strength and resilience already in themselves to overcome challenges, navigate difficult circumstances, and have meaningful connections with others. My approach to therapy is strength-based, holistic, and largely focuses on using mindfulness-based techniques and practices. In the last 14 years I have had the privilege to work with a wide variety of students from diverse backgrounds, cultures, identities, and lived experiences. I've had the privilege to work with first generation college students, international students, adult learners pursuing a second career, and younger students adjusting to independent life and college for the first time. In the past 4 years I have specialized in in working with college and graduate students pursuing advanced degrees in the health sciences field. I understand how challenging it can be to navigate these stressful times and how difficult it can be to find a balance between taking care of yourself and reaching your academic potential. It can get better and I'd like to help.

I take a CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), goals-focused approach. I am licensed in Massachusetts and New York and I can see students in either state--in fact, I work with a number of students who go to school in MA but live in NY when they are not on campus and vice versa. I'd be happy to set up a time to talk so you can ask any questions that you have to see if it would be a good fit for you.

Navigating challenges in our daily lives can seem overwhelming especially when dealing with the echoes of past trauma. Seeking support is a courageous step, and you don’t have to face this journey alone.
I believe that how we interact with others in the present often grew out of lessons learned earlier in life. Sometimes, people use strategies to cope with situations that once made sense but are no longer effective or useful. I also believe that everyone has strengths that can help guide decisions and behaviors in the present. I believe in a collaborative approach to therapy, where we become travelers on your journey; we look at concerns, explore their origins and feelings that arise, and discuss how to view and handle situations here and now. I blend developmental and clinical approaches to help individuals understand difficulties within the context of typical stages of life. Treatment is geared to individual needs, and I draw on a variety of theoretical orientations (e.g., Psychodynamic, CBT, and Humanistic therapies). I work with individuals from a wide range of ethnic, cultural, and economic backgrounds, and I have a special interest in gender identity and sexual orientation (LGBTQIA+). I have helped clients with concerns including, among several others, depression, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, and life transitions. Please visit my website for more information: www.everbreezepsych.com
