Good therapy happens when you feel respected and understood. Transformation comes through honest dialogue with your therapist. My style is collaborative and interactive. I listen, I talk, we interpret and untangle; together we identify goals, overcome obstacles, and make positive change. Guided by the principles of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy - by the belief that our pasts shape our values and feelings, and impact our relationships - I provide individualized talk therapy for life transitions and stressors including Trauma, Loss, and Relationship and Existential Issues across the lifespan. I offer a warm, non-judgmental opportunity to reflect on what is going on for you and what you can do about it. Navigating life is hard. Transitions, losses, relationships, economic pressure, depression, anxiety, trauma, and everything else that comes with being human can be difficult to manage under any circumstances. We all need new approaches sometimes. As we get to know each other, we will draw from a variety of therapies based on what makes sense for you. One size does not fit all! I would welcome the chance to help you consider what to do with your one precious life. I know it takes courage to reach out to a therapist, whether you have had therapy in the past or not. Just know I'll always be glad to hear from you.

It's important that my clients feel safe and connected, so please reach out with any questions or concerns about whether we may be a good fit!
Welcome to Aperture Psychiatry. I’m Yalun (Alan) Zhang, MD, M.Ed. I specialize in mood and trauma-related disorders, with a culturally sensitive, integrative approach that treats you as a whole person—not simply a diagnosis. I completed residency at Harvard South Shore–VA Boston, where I served as Executive Chief Resident, and am currently a Fellow in Interventional Neuropsychiatry and Neuromodulation at Mass General Brigham–Harvard Medical School. Above all, I strive to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and respected. In addition to experience and expertise in general psychiatry, I am also familiar with various complementary and alternative treatments, seen through the lens of evidence-based clinical care. Please feel free to call and leave your name, call back number, and brief reason for consultation, and I will call you back within 2 business days for a free 15 minute consultation to see if Aperture Psychiatry is right for you. I'm licensed to treat patients in both Massachusetts and California.

I like getting to know my clients and their primary reason for seeking therapy. Clients should feel comfortable, welcome a challenge, but also feel that I can be a vessel for non-judgment. I am warm, open-minded, and direct. The goal is to have clients feel safe enough to explore their struggles so we can build a plan together for your optimal mental health and well-being.
We all want to be happy. More specifically, most people want to feel effective and confident, especially when it comes to relationships. We want to feel included, appreciated, and loved. Sometimes these things may seem out of reach, or you may be struggling with other challenges that leave you feeling stuck, discouraged, or helpless. Seeking support from someone with expertise relating to the human experience may be just what you need to feel more empowered and in control of your life. I am a clinical psychologist in private practice, providing behavioral health services to individuals, families, and groups in the Greater Boston area. My goal in a collaborative treatment is to work with you to identify areas of need and to utilize your unique strengths to develop, rediscover or refine ways of managing the obstacles that impede your growth. In a warm and caring environment, we will explore and expand your assets and skills to facilitate positive and adaptive change. Together we will cut the path that you choose toward a life that is increasingly meaningful and satisfying.
Virtual Therapy for students of color, LGBTQIA+ students, international students, third-culture kids, and anyone who’s ever felt like they don’t fully belong. On the outside, you might look like you’ve got it together. Inside, it feels different: - Racing thoughts that won’t stop - Tension in your body and exhaustion you can’t shake - Sleep struggles—restless nights or oversleeping to escape - Eating out of sync—skipping meals, stress eating, or feeling disconnected from hunger cues - Mood swings, irritability, or emotional flatness - School, friendships, romantic relationships, and even self-care feel overwhelming - Isolating when you actually crave connection ✨ This isn’t just “stress.” Often, it’s unprocessed trauma—from childhood, cultural pressure, identity struggles, or painful past experiences—that quietly fuels anxiety, depression, and feeling stuck. My approach: - Not quick fixes or endless coping skills - Trauma-informed and holistic therapy - Tools like Brainspotting + somatic therapy to help your nervous system heal, not just your thoughts - A space to uncover the root of what’s keeping you stuck and move toward lasting change What you can expect: - Feeling more grounded, present, and connected—to yourself, your community, and your future - Support from someone who gets it: as an Asian clinician and former international student, I understand the challenges of navigating multiple cultures and expectations - A space where you don’t have to over-explain—you can show up fully, take up space, and finally feel seen
Hi, I’m Molly Johnson and I’m a licensed therapist in both Massachusetts and Minnesota. I’m passionate about helping people heal, deepen their insight, and become more skillful in how they live their life. While I previously offered in-person therapy, I now work exclusively through virtual sessions. Many clients begin with some hesitation, but soon find that virtual therapy feels just as connected and supportive as being in the room together. My therapeutic approach draws from DBT, CBT, and other evidence-based practices, but at the heart of my work is a genuine listening ear, attentive presence and someone who is cheering you on!
If you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, or unsure where you fit in, I can help. I use combination of therapeutic approaches depending your needs. As a therapist who likes to get results, I can help you define and meet your goals. In most case, I have found cognitive behavioral therapy to be a very effective tool. In addition to teaching specific skills and techniques, I offer support and empathy so that you feel fully understood and accepted. Time and time again, I have seen that when you gain insight and understand the valid origins of your beliefs and behaviors, you can make healthier choices.
Welcome! I'm a therapist who helps college/graduate students and young professionals move from feeling anxious, stuck and unsure to secure, at ease, and fulfilled. Whether it’s feelings of uncertainty about your college and career path, struggles with self-esteem and perfectionism, or adjusting to a new medical diagnosis, you know you’re ready to make changes in your life. Many of the people I work with identify as high-achievers who have “taken all the right steps”, yet are still feeling anxious or uncertain. On paper, they are doing great and seem to have it all together, but inside they’re struggling with feelings of imposter syndrome or like they don’t know if they’re on the right path. I'm here to help you gain the tools and skills necessary to thrive in the face of challenges. Together, we will identify your goals and work collaboratively with an individualized and strengths-based approach. Through our work, we will spend some time exploring your past while also ensuring that we’re taking action-oriented steps to keep you moving forward.

People make the decision to engage in therapy for a multitude of reasons, all of which are valid. Some people may be ambivalent about making changes in their lives, while others might feel eager and ready to start the process. Regardless of where you find yourself on that continuum, I am here to support you. Although my background has mainly been focused around eating and body image, I see clients who are experiencing a variety of concerns: relationship issues, anxiety/depression, life transitions, unhappiness, etc. Prior to private practice, I worked with undergraduate and graduate students at Harvard University Counseling and Mental Health Service, with a specialty in supporting student-athletes and individuals with eating and body image concerns. I have also worked in psychiatric inpatient programs as well as eating disorder treatment programs. My therapeutic style is integrative, which means that our work together will draw on various approaches determined by your concerns and goals. My hope is for us to build a trusting relationship that will allow for honest reflection, helpful challenge, and ultimately positive change so that you may be able to lead a more fulfilling life.
