I provide individual mental health treatment services to adults experiencing emotional distress due to relationships, parenting, life stressors, and women's health concerns. I also work with people experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma and adjustment disorder, as well as the sober curious. I offer SPACE Treatment which stands for Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions. It is a parent-based treatment program for children and adolescents with anxiety, OCD, and related problems. I practice social work from a generalist approach, utilizing different treatment modalities based on the clients strengths and needs, including elements of person-centered therapy, A.R.C., mindfulness, collaborative problem solving, feelings management through coping skills, and dialectical behavioral therapy. In addition to private practice, I have experience working in schools, hospitals and day treatment. My goal is to create a safe and supportive therapeutic environment where clients can learn and reflect in order to create lasting change and stability. If you are ready to talk about what is going on, I am here to listen. Please reach out!

I love working with college students and young adults. I understand what a complex and sometimes overwhelming time of life this can be; whether you find yourself struggling with anxiety, depression, or difficulty navigating your relationships, I am truly passionate about supporting my clients in their process to gain deeper self-understanding and foster personal growth through self-compassion. I work from a place of genuine curiosity and respect each person’s path as unique. I take a warm, supportive, and collaborative approach, using the information that you present (or, in some cases, avoid) to help you make sense of the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that may be undermining your relationships and productivity.

I am currently accepting new clients with evening and weekend availability. My practice is rooted in the core assumption that people are doing the best they can at any given moment. I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families who desire change and want to reduce their suffering. My primary focus is helping individuals navigate life transitions related to adjustment to college, relationships, career, and identity. Together, we’ll work toward healing patterns that no longer serve you and develop practical skills for lasting change. I view my clinical work through a trauma-informed lens with a focus on empowering individuals through identifying and utilizing their strengths, resources, and resilience. My specialties include depression, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, low self-esteem, and family conflict. I spent the first 5 years of my career receiving extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy at McLean Hospital, a leading psychiatric facility affiliated with Harvard Medical School. I enjoy helping to support people as they navigate through the many different waves of life. I help to create a warm, non judgmental, and supportive environment where clients are free to talk about their stories. I draw from a number of different treatment modalities, but most importantly, meet the client where they are at. While each individual's experience is unique, I regularly work with clients around topics related to anxiety, depression, obsessive thoughts, relationship concerns, sexuality, ADHD, life's transitions, familial conflict and many more. In this busy world, it can be difficult to make time to focus on your needs. Therapy provides a space to do so and share your story in a safe and non judgmental environment. Sessions are a time to practice self care, utilize your strengths, and develop tools that help you gain a better understanding of you. I would love to have the chance to work with you and hear your story. Currently, sessions are teletherapy based allowing you more flexibility to be in a familiar setting and join from any mobile or desktop device. I would love to help you with the process of learning more about you and develop the tools to navigate the many waves of life.

I'm passionate about working with college students, especially international students, students of color, and first-generation students. These students are often interested in exploring their identities and navigating life transitions. They may also be looking for support with academic stress and how to live according to their values. I have previous experience working in a college counseling setting, and I'm eager to connect with students who are seeking support. I am psychodynamically trained and have focused much of my learning and clinical practice within a social justice framework. Before moving to the US, I lived and studied in China, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Therefore, both Eastern and Western philosophies and values influence and inform my perspectives and the integrative approaches that I bring to my work.

Hello there, Feeling stuck? Feeling stressed out about all the things that are competing for your attention? Wanting to change your relationship with yourself, so you can spread your wings and soar? I'm Stefan (he/him) and I want to be there on your journey. Starting therapy can feel scary, even if you've been in therapy before! To lower that intensity a bit, I want you to give you an idea of how I show up to sessions: - I get to know you - your family, friends, hobbies, shows, loves, fears, passions. - I celebrate and hype you up when you do the hard thing. - I ask questions to get you curious about patterns in your life, and point out when you might not be aware of them. - I offer compassion when your mind creates judgments about yourself. - I welcome and ask for feedback, knowing some things will land and others will not. - I laugh with you and value humor. - I tear up when you feel hurt or uncover a tender spot (while also holding space for you to feel). - I'll tell you I'm proud of you. - I nerd out about mental health, skills, approaches, and explain concepts in a way you'll understand. - I slow down and speed up based on your cues, and I give you choice in how we go about sessions. - I'm always working on our relationship, so there's trust and security when we get to difficult things. - I acknowledge the bigger systems of oppression that affect your life and lives of your loved ones. - I'm active and dynamic in sessions - sometimes asking questions, leading an activity, listening and reflecting, interrupting to highlight something you said, and synthesizing information and summarizing it back to you. All of this "I" is the effort I put into helping you get to "you": what you want, what you care about, your goals, dreams, your emotions, stressors, internal talk, and who you want to become and how you want to show up in life. Specialties: queer and trans identities and lived experiences, anxiety and depression, perfectionism, substance use, navigating family dynamics, healing trauma, couples and relationship work, career discernment Approaches: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR; trauma approach), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gottman Method (for relationship work), mindfulness and somatic interventions I'm an associate counselor, seeing clients through telehealth in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and California. My typical availability is 8am-5pm EST, although I sometimes see clients earlier in the morning or early evening. I have in-person availability in Northampton, MA on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Please reach out with any questions! I accept the following insurances: - United/Optum/UMR/UHC in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and California - Harvard Pilgrim in Massachusetts Private pay rates are: Individual - $125-$175 Couples/Relationships/Family - $145-$195

While supporting a diverse population of individuals throughout the years, it has become clear that there is a strong need to nurture our mental health. For centuries the medical industry has focused largely on physiological concerns. Within recent years, we have come to pay closer attention to the relationship between our physical and emotional well-being. As you navigate various adjustments related to your young adult life it is important that you allow yourself the space to identify and process your emotional needs. The therapeutic relationship will be specific to your needs while ensuring an individualized approach. ***Please reach out directly for a free consultation to determine if I would be a good fit to best support your needs***
