As of 1/28/25, I am currently accepting new daytime clients at our Seekonk location. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in MA and RI, I specialize in helping individuals of all ages facing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and more. I have a strong focus on supporting first responders. My approach is client-centered and strengths-based, tailoring therapy to your unique needs, interests, and goals. I help clients develop practical, achievable solutions to life's challenges, empowering them to overcome obstacles and improve their well-being. As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), I specialize in helping individuals who’ve experienced emotional, physical, or sexual abuse. I also support first responders managing job-related stress and trauma. My approach focuses on coping strategies, emotional healing, and improving well-being for those impacted by trauma and workplace challenges. I understand that reaching out for counseling can feel daunting. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space for you to express yourself. Whether you're facing trauma, stress, or life changes, I’m here to listen and help. If you have any questions or concerns, I invite you to reach out so we can begin your healing journey together.
College can be overwhelming. It can be filled with anxiety, stress, loneliness and other tough encounters. Whether you are navigating a new relationship, juggling course work and social life or having trouble simply adjusting, therapy can help! I have worked with a number of college students and have supported them with issues including, body image concerns, perfectionism, student-athlete struggles, depression, anxiety, childhood trauma, transitioning from college to the "real word" OCD and relationship issues. You don't have to navigate this chapter of your life alone. I am here for you! I am licensed in MA, PA, NJ and TX and work with you via tele-health if you are from any of the above states.
I’m Alexandra Casamassima (a mouthful, I know), a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. More specifically, I help people create positive change in their lives when they are struggling. I have expertise in working with women. This includes college students or millennials going through a “quarter life crisis,” the pregnancy and postpartum period, and beyond. I support women in exploring their history and revealing patterns that may be impacting their emotions or relationships, or just help tackle a difficult season of life. I am not your typical therapist, and we will not be interpreting dreams from a couch. Therapy should not be an awkward and stale experience. Expect therapy with me to be a compassionate and safe space to process what you’re going through. However, I am not a sit and nod therapist. I will be real. I will challenge you in the areas I think we need to re-evaluate. I will use humor. I might curse here and there. While I have extensive education and training that has prepared me for this role, my experience has mostly taught me that YOU are the expert of your life. You have all the strengths, capabilities, and life experiences you need to get you where you want to go. My skills involve utilizing those strengths, giving you the tools to cope with what you’re struggling with, and elicit the change you want to see. I do not have a magic wand (otherwise my rates would be much higher), but if you put in the work during the therapy process, transformation is possible. If you’re reading this, chances are you are suffering in some way. Maybe you’re experiencing anxiety, maybe you’re overwhelmed with being a mom, or maybe you know you’re just not getting the most out of life. Please reach out if you’d like to take the first step to make positive change.
As a licensed clinical social worker with more than 15 years experience in the field of social work, I'm committed to helping you grow. While utilizing positive psychology, cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness as a foundation, I work together with my clients to help them reach a higher version of themselves. Much of our suffering and distress comes from our relationships. When we focus on compassion for self and others, life becomes more meaningful and fulfilling.
My particular areas of interests include (but are not limited to): depression/anxiety, life transitions, college mental health, LGBTQIA+ issues, emotion regulation, and family work. I have significant experience working with the LGBTQIA+ community, working with children on the autism spectrum, and children/family work. I also have extensive training in risk assessments, individual, group, and family therapy. I approach each person/group as unique and will tailor my techniques/practices appropriately. My graduate work was with a concentration on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), but I also utilize techniques such as mindfulness, motivational interviewing, strength-based therapy, coping skill training, etc.

My Approach & Values Hope and the belief that it’s possible to recover are the foundation of the work I do. You deserve and can expect a full recovery. Keep in mind that medications are not the only modality available to treat mental illness. Many don’t experience full remission of symptoms with the available psychopharmacological treatment alone. However, there is empirical data that shows the efficacy of augmenting medication with psychotherapy and lifestyle changes. Simple changes aid individuals in regaining a meaningful life, even when recovery stalls. The goal is to gain control of your life back with emphasis on managing symptoms and building resilience. Some thoughts to keep in mind include the questions listed below. - How can we move forward? - What new goals could be set? - How can we get your new life back on track? - Can we work together to develop your support system? - What skills can you learn to cope with periods of crisis?
I believe therapy can make a profound, positive impact, helping you heal and becoming the best version of yourself. My approach is collaborative—getting to know you, understanding your concerns, and working together to create treatment goals that improve your mental health. I support clients facing challenges such as depression, anxiety, trauma, prenatal and postpartum depression, and substance use. I also work with clients around racial and immigrant identity, and life transitions in young adulthood. In our sessions, I provide a safe, inclusive space where you can feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and feelings. I’m a social person who enjoys hiking, traveling, and exploring creativity through stand-up comedy and improv. My warmth and humor help create a relaxed environment where you can feel at ease while we work through your challenges. If you often hold your feelings in, struggle to find someone to talk to, or cope with trauma through unhealthy habits like substance use, now may be the time to seek help. Therapy is a sign of strength, not weakness—taking the first step toward healing is brave and empowering, and I’m here to support you in becoming a happier, healthier version of yourself.

Hello and welcome. I'm Dr. Anthony Galati, a licensed clinical psychologist with over six years of experience working alongside individuals navigating life’s many complexities. I firmly believe that each of us is faced with our own unique challenges— chapters in the larger story or song of our lives. While no two journeys are exactly alike, we all know what it means to struggle. I also believe that one of the most powerful things we can do is allow ourselves to be vulnerable enough to share those struggles with someone who truly listens. I work from an integrative framework, recognizing that while many experiences may overlap, every individual’s lived experience is distinct. My foundation is rooted in psychodynamic therapy, which helps us explore how past experiences may shape current thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. From there, I tailor interventions to support self-awareness, emotional processing, and meaningful change. In addition to psychodynamic work, I incorporate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This allows me to tailor sessions to your needs. Phone: (609) 300 - 4358
I offer a free 20 minute phone consultation to help figure out if we are a good fit to work together.
