You don’t need to have everything figured out before beginning therapy. You may only know that something feels difficult, that a familiar way of coping is no longer working, or that you want your life or relationships to feel different. In therapy, we work together to understand the thoughts, beliefs, behaviors, and experiences shaping your struggles. As a therapist, I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, identity concerns, and major life transitions. I'll help you build practical coping and emotional regulation skills, approach yourself with greater self-compassion, clarify your values, and respond to challenges with more flexibility and intention. The goal is to strengthen self-trust and create changes that feel meaningful, realistic, and sustainable. I believe meaningful change becomes possible when you feel understood enough to be honest and supported enough to try something new, and my role is to be that steady, compassionate, and active partner as you make sense of what you're carrying and recognize the patterns shaping your choices. We can begin where you are and work toward greater clarity, emotional steadiness, and meaningful change in everyday life. Working with me is warm, collaborative, and active. I create space for you to feel heard while also helping you look honestly at patterns that may be contributing to your distress. In our sessions, I ask thoughtful and sometimes direct questions, offer practical tools, and gently challenge avoidance, self-criticism, black-and-white thinking, or familiar responses that are no longer serving you. Together, we slow down reactions, explore what lies beneath them, and distinguish productive problem-solving from worry or rumination. My approach balances insight with action: we build emotional awareness, strengthen coping and regulation skills, clarify your needs and values, and practice more flexible ways of responding. The goal is not perfection, but greater self-trust and meaningful change. My path to becoming a therapist has been shaped by more than two decades of experience across countries, careers, cultures, and life roles. Before entering the mental health field, I worked as a lawyer, filmmaker, nonprofit leader, and mother. Moving through these different identities gave me a deep appreciation for how complex and nonlinear life can be, especially when a relationship, career, identity, or familiar way of living begins to change. These experiences strengthened my commitment to compassionate, culturally responsive care grounded in the realities of each person's life. I bring curiosity, steadiness, and respect for the many parts of each patient's story to my practice now, along with an appreciation for the courage it takes to question familiar patterns and begin again. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, writing, and exploring how stories help us understand ourselves and one another. I also value time with my family, which helps me slow down, remain curious, and stay connected to what matters most.

You deserve a compassionate and grounded partner in your healing journey. As a mental health counselor for children, adolescents, young adults, and couples, I specialize in helping patients navigate relationship patterns, attachment dynamics, self-esteem development, identity exploration, interpersonal dynamics, anxiety and depression, disordered eating, and life transitions. If you’re ready to work toward greater self-understanding and emotional resilience, please reach out today. I look forward to supporting you as you develop greater confidence, self-acceptance, and a deeper sense of meaning and purpose. I take a holistic, collaborative, and individualized approach to care to help you build insight, emotional awareness, and growth for meaningful, lasting change. We achieve this together in a supportive and nonjudgmental environment tailored to your unique personality, presenting problems, and needs. Your customized treatment plan may include psychodynamic and person-centered therapies, integrated with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and relational therapy to guide you in reaching your goals. My passion for therapy grew from wanting to be a safe space for people going through difficult periods and feeling like they have no one they can talk to. As someone who lacked this outlet as a teenager, I understood the value of providing unconditional, compassionate care. In my practice now, I remain committed to bringing a humanizing perspective to the therapeutic relationship, grounded in the belief that we all share similar emotions and life experiences, in order to ensure patients feel seen, understood, and supported in every session. In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors and staying active through sports like soccer, tennis, wake surfing, skiing (downhill and cross-country), running marathons, yoga, and other workouts; as well as by hiking, taking long walks, and being near the beach or mountains. I also enjoy reading self-help books, watching psychological thrillers and rom-coms, listening to music, cooking healthy meals, and spending meaningful time with friends — staying present and unplugged from phones whenever possible.

Welcome to Jocelyn Bibi Therapy! I approach the therapeutic relationship with collaboration at the forefront: no one person is the same, or needs the same things. You can expect me to be a thought partner and an ally; I am here to help guide you through challenges, setbacks and exploration in a safe, non-judgmental environment. I will work with you to connect with yourself in order to reach the goals we set together, or to feel empowered to be curious about who you are and where you are. Are you or your loved ones feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or uncertain about the future? Are you navigating relationship challenges, work or school stress, major life transitions, family dynamics, self-esteem concerns, or difficulty managing your emotions? Or, maybe you simply feel like something isn't quite right, but aren't sure how to make sense of it. My goal as a licensed master social worker is to help you better understand yourself and what you’re experiencing, develop healthy coping skills, build confidence, and work toward a life that feels more fulfilling and aligned with who you are. My specialties include anxiety, depression, self-esteem, life transitions, relationship concerns, and emotional regulation for children, adolescents, and adults. Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you're not even sure where to begin. You don't need to have the right words, a clear plan, or everything figured out before reaching out. If you're ready to better understand yourself, work through what's been weighing on you, or simply have someone in your corner, I'd be happy to take that first step with you. My hope is that therapy becomes a space where you feel supported enough to be honest, understood enough to feel less alone, and empowered enough to create the changes you're looking for. Therapy with me is warm, authentic, and collaborative, as I'm passionate about building a genuine therapeutic relationship and getting to know you as a whole person, not just the challenges that brought you to therapy. I'll meet you where you are, listening with curiosity and empathy while working collaboratively with you to determine what feels most helpful. I want therapy to feel like a place where you can take a breath and be completely yourself. You are the expert on your own life; my role is to walk alongside you, offer a different perspective, help you notice patterns, and support you in figuring out what you want and how to get there. I use evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, and motivational interviewing, though I tailor our work to your personality, experiences, and goals rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. Together, we turn insight into practical tools and move toward meaningful healing. My path to becoming a therapist began with a simple desire: to be the person I once needed. Growing up, I often wished I had someone I could talk to who would truly listen, help me make sense of what I was experiencing, and remind me that I didn't have to figure everything out on my own. That experience shaped the kind of therapist I wanted to become. Today, I bring that same belief into my work with patients. I want you to feel genuinely heard and understood, not judged, rushed, or defined by the reason you came to therapy. Building a real relationship with my patients is at the heart of my work, and I approach each person with empathy, curiosity, and authenticity. Outside of therapy, you'll usually find me going on walks, practicing yoga or Pilates, reading, cooking, traveling, trying new restaurants, or spending time with my friends and family. I love exploring new places, trying new things, and finding little ways to make everyday life feel special. I also value staying active and making time for the people and experiences that keep me grounded, connected, and uplifted.

Hi, I’m Dianne. I’m glad you’re here! I’m here to support you to be free from fear and anxiety, align to inner guidance, develop nourishing relationships, and make choices from a place of love, curiosity, and possibility. My intention is that our sessions allow you to feel deeply known, and that through our work you’ll feel more free to be authentic in your life and relationships. Together, we’ll get to know you — your patterns, your strengths, your desires — so you become your own best teacher, with me as a steady support along the way. I hold a Master’s of Social Work from Smith College. I’ve worked with individuals of diverse ages, identities, and backgrounds in community mental health in New York City and in educational settings including San Francisco International High School and Vassar College. I trained in post-abortion counseling with Exhale Pro Voice, and I participated in FemSex, now called GenSex, an anti-oppression workshop for people of all identities about sexuality, gender, consent, and privilege. Before returning to school to train as a therapist, I worked for several years in international women’s rights, food justice, and bilingual education. I draw from psychodynamic, relational, somatic, mindfulness, and compassion-based approaches. If you’re struggling with anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, or questions of meaning and purpose, let’s talk.

With curiosity, compassion, and openness, I approach therapy as a supportive and collaborative partner to my patients, who include children, adolescents, and adults. My specialties as a psychotherapist focus on trauma, self-esteem and identity concerns, difficult emotions, family stress, and periods of significant change. Together, we help you create a stronger sense of self, make sense of your experiences, develop healthier coping strategies, and navigate relationships and life changes with greater confidence and self-understanding. I look forward to building a therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to explore your experiences and work toward the changes that matter most to you. I believe people are capable of meaningful change when they feel supported rather than judged and, therefore, the therapeutic process should be shaped around each person's individual needs, strengths, and goals. That’s why I bring a warm, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approach to care, as I'm passionate about making therapy a collaborative process where you feel safe to be honest, explore difficult experiences, and better understand yourself. You can expect a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable being yourself, with a style that's collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your unique needs, experiences, and goals. Through evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-focused interventions, and psychodynamic therapy, I help you better understand your emotions and experiences, develop practical coping skills, strengthen relationships, and work toward meaningful change. Therapy should meet you where you are rather than asking you to fit into a particular framework, so I shape our work around what feels most helpful and meaningful to you. I didn’t initially intend to become a therapist; I was invested in pursuing psychological research, but a serendipitous scheduling issue with an undergraduate placement moved me from research assistant to intake counselor, and I found myself deeply invested in the stories I heard and equally rewarded by the support I was able to provide in crucial moments. That experience led me to pivot my career aspirations, and I have since pursued clinical work across a variety of populations and modalities. All of this work has deepened my commitment to providing warm, collaborative care centered on the patient and how their unique experiences in life have shaped their perspectives and understanding of the world. In my free time, I like baking for the people in my life (I'm a big fan of pie), along with reading, painting, and photography. I'm also a long-suffering fan of the Philadelphia Flyers.

With more than five years of experience as a trauma-informed therapist, I work with teens and adults navigating trauma, mood disorders, and co-occurring mental health conditions. Beyond the clinical work, what drives me most is a genuine passion for connecting with the people I have the privilege of working with. Therapeutic relationships built on trust and authenticity are at the heart of everything I do. When you feel safe enough to be truly open, not just with me but with yourself, something powerful becomes possible. That vulnerability is where growth begins, and it's something I hold with great care. Watching someone gain insight, deepen their self-awareness, and step closer to the person they aspire to be is, without question, the most rewarding part of this work. It's why I show up as a supportive, collaborative, and reliable partner in every person's journey, and why I look forward to doing the same for you. Every person who walks through my door brings a unique story, and the way I work with you reflects that. Care that's genuinely effective isn't one-size-fits-all, so I tailor each aspect of our work to your specific needs, goals, and lived experiences. From the first session, building a strong, authentic rapport is my priority, because real motivation and lasting change grow out of feeling truly seen and supported. You can expect a space that is safe, collaborative, and free of judgment. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic therapy, woven together with other evidence-based approaches as your journey calls for them, we'll work to deepen your self-awareness, strengthen your coping skills, and cultivate the tools that support your mental health for the long term. The goal isn't just to help you feel better in the moment; it's to help you grow into the steadiness and confidence that carry you forward. My path to becoming a therapist began with a strong desire to feel understood and a deep curiosity about the human experience. That longing to connect and understand others shaped the way I show up for my patients, with compassion, patience, and genuine empathy. As a Black and Latina woman, I bring a culturally informed perspective to my practice, along with a sincere commitment to stepping outside my own frame of reference to explore and honor the experiences of people from all backgrounds and walks of life. This perspective enriches the care I offer and deepens the connection we build together. In my personal time, I prioritize activities that support balance, creativity, and overall well-being. Reading and crocheting serve as mindful, creative outlets, while a consistent exercise routine and a love of hiking keep me grounded in both body and mind. Staying connected with friends and family is equally important to me, and I make intentional time to nurture those relationships. That commitment to a well-rounded life is something I carry into my work with you.

Your emotional wellness is not a luxury – it’s a necessity in an ever-changing society. In order to create real change in your life, you must care for your mental health needs. I provide quality therapy for young professionals in NYC, couples therapy, and perinatal therapy. No matter what your age or relationship status, if you’re here it’s because you’re looking to make a change. Maybe you don’t feel good enough – you’re insecure and not sure what your next step is. Or perhaps you’re overloaded with tasks and your anxiety is through the roof, you’re feeling so overwhelmed that you don’t even know where to begin. Living in a world of anxiety and worry takes a toll on your mental health. If you find yourself not feeling good enough, or you’re taking care of others instead of yourself, it might be time to seek help. I support people going through major life transitions such as becoming a parent, starting a relationship or dealing with the breakup, having work-related stress, becoming an entrepreneur, or getting through graduate school. I also work with clients who suffer from low self-esteem and those who feel like there’s something in the way of enjoying life. By providing safe and supportive space in therapy, I empower clients to feel good about themselves, build resiliency and take steps towards greater happiness. In my practice, I believe that therapy shouldn’t be a one-size-fits-all experience. As a Licensed Master Social Worker, I specialize in depression and anxiety, OCD, self-esteem, relationship issues, stress management, and life transitions for young adults and adults who want more than just a space to process difficult emotions. If you’re looking for practical tools, greater self-awareness, and the ability to navigate life's challenges with growing confidence and independence, then I am here for you. Therapy, to me, works best when it feels like a genuine partnership. I bring authenticity, curiosity, and respect to every session, and am committed to being a warm, honest presence as you work toward the life you want to create. Together, we'll explore the patterns that may be holding you back, develop skills that actually fit your life, and build the insight you need to keep moving forward. I don't believe therapy is about someone else having the answers for you. At its core, it's about creating space to slow down, get curious about yourself, and develop the tools needed to move through life with more confidence and intention. That belief shapes everything about how I work. You are the expert on your own life, and my role is to help you reconnect with your strengths, explore your experiences with openness, and gain a clearer understanding of the patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Rather than directing what you should do, I'll support you in discovering what feels right for you and help you build the confidence to trust yourself along the way. In practice, I draw on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and somatic interventions. Sessions are welcoming and nonjudgmental, a space where you can learn to respond to emotions more effectively and strengthen your ability to act in alignment with your values. My interest in becoming a therapist started early in life. After losing loved ones, I found myself wanting to be a source of support for my family during the hardest moments. As I grew older, that desire evolved into a deeper passion for understanding people and the human experience. Through studying psychology and social psychology, I became fascinated by the ways our thoughts, emotions, relationships, and environments shape how we move through the world. I carry this passion and curiosity with me now, offering a genuine investment in understanding who you are and what you need to move forward. When I'm not working, I love exploring my creative side through art, cooking, baking, and decorating. I'm also an avid runner and regularly race half-marathons. Both creativity and running have taught me a great deal about myself, from learning how to navigate challenges and adapt to setbacks to appreciating the value of patience, curiosity, and growth.

Are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about what’s going on internally? Whether you’re wrestling with academic pressures, struggling to understand why certain tasks feel harder than they should, or wondering if there’s more to why you feel anxious or disconnected, I’m here to help you find clarity and answers. I’m a psychologist in New York City with a focus on assessments that go beyond surface-level challenges, helping students like you understand who they are and what they need to succeed. Many of the students who find testing helpful are motivated, thoughtful, and want to know themselves better. They may feel like no matter how hard they try, something still feels off, or they feel out of sync with others. If you’ve been wondering if there’s a reason behind your difficulties with focus, social interactions, anxiety, or even low moods, psychological testing can help reveal what’s happening beneath the surface. I work especially well with students who want a deeper understanding of themselves, so they can navigate college life, relationships, and personal goals with confidence. The results of testing shouldn’t feel like another test to understand. My approach is about making sense of what’s going on in a clear, accessible way. My goal is for you to feel equipped to take on college – and life – with greater self-awareness and practical tools that work for you.

The Loom was created as a space that recognizes the interconnectedness between an individual’s struggles and their relationships. Life’s challenges can impact our relationships, and in turn, our relationships can either serve as a source of support or contribute to the challenges we face. The Loom aims to help clients address these issues by exploring how individuals’ struggles affect their relationships and vice versa, acknowledging the dynamic interplay between the two. This understanding forms the basis of our therapeutic approach, which seeks to support healing and growth within the context of these relationships. The most common reasons students come to see us are related to anxiety and depression, dating and relationship issues, academic or career related stress and burnout, gender and sexuality identity, disordered eating and body image, as well as cultural and identity focus. We offer individual and couples sessions in person in union square or online. We are also proud to offer sessions in Spanish.
