Hi, I'm Stephanie. I'm a licensed clinical psychologist who provides trauma-informed care to a wide variety of patients. I strive to provide a warm and safe space where patients can feel comfortable sharing without fear of judgment. My goal is to help my patients reflect on their values so that they can work towards what it means to be their "best self." I will always focus on treating the symptoms and not the "disorder," in an effort to tailor my approach to the individual. I believe deeply in fighting stigma associated with mental illness and am involved in advocacy and research outside of treating patients.

We work in the evolving tradition of contemporary psychoanalysis, with a relational focus and deep respect for the soci-cultural and political complexities we face as individuals and collectively. We respect the deep nature of many emotional issues and their interpersonal origin in real life, often traumatic, developmental experiences. We seek to understand your unique developmental needs and how they may have been neglected, hijacked or violated by important figures in your life, as well as social institutions on whom you relied. Therapy - whether individual, couples' or group - is a process of understanding, healing and growing beyond these deep wounds and over-accommodations, freeing you for the emergence of a life that is more authentically your own. Therapy is best done through an open, intimate relationship with a professional dedicated to understanding your unique pain, who recognizes your needs for safety and emotional validation, and creates the space for the emergence of greater self-expression, agency and growth, allowing you to be more fully engaged and alive to yourself and to others. More in control of shaping your identity and destiny. As a group of clinicians we are deeply familiar with the struggles of launching oneself into adulthood. Please visit our website to see a description of our therapists, their work and how to contact them individually to set up a therapeutic relationship.

Therapy with me is a collaborative process where we will work together to understand and address your needs. Through humor and vulnerability, we’ll co-create a judgment-free space for your authentic self to flourish. I utilize a mindfulness-based and relational approach to support clients in creating positive change in their lives. I have successfully supported sexually and gender diverse folx, older folx, neurodivergent folx, and poly/ENM folx dealing with issues of identity, shame, body image, trauma, and interpersonal conflict issues. I approach therapy with an anti-oppressive lens, assisting folx with unlearning internalized messages and thought patterns that prevent growth. I am excited to empower and support you in your journey of self-discovery!

There are 6 therapists including myself in the practice. We are all different in our approaches and areas of expertise. Our fees are flexible, as are our hours. We are offering in-person sessions. All of us have worked with students since the start of our careers. In fact women roughly ages 18-25 is our favorite population to work with. We believe the fit between client and therapist is the most important aspect of therapy. You feeling listened to, not judged and that we are focused on helping you is our goal.

For oppressed people to intentionally cultivate pleasure is an act of resistance - Ingrid LaFleur. I specialize in providing culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, poly & kink-friendly, and queer-affirming therapy. My journey as a queer, non-monogamous South Asian neurodivergent woman, along with the experiences of those close to me, deeply shape my approach. I draw on my first-hand knowledge of navigating kink/sex-positive environments. It's important to me to approach therapy with a sense of curiosity and openness so that I can better understand and support my clients. I view each individual within the context of their environment, recognizing the complex intersections of their various identities. I rely on evidenced-based methods that consider the impact of trauma and are attuned to diverse cultural perspectives. In my sessions, I strive to create a safe space for clients to rehearse for life outside of therapy. Building an authentic relationship with my clients is my highest priority. Jiddu Krishnamurti said that it is no measure of health to be adjusted to a society that is profoundly sick and I do not see therapy as a way to numb the pain that is caused by systemic oppression but rather a way to empower clients to have compassion for themselves.

You scroll through social media—past the highlights of trips, engagement announcements, and large friends/family gatherings—that familiar ache settles in your chest. You’ve been hurt, and it’s affected your ability to form healthy connections where you feel safe, seen, heard, and validated. Opening up—being vulnerable—feels like a struggle, and you know it’s keeping you stuck and alone. It’s not that you haven’t tried. You’ve been open, set boundaries, and “put yourself out there”. You’ve invested time, energy, and effort into making your relationships work. Yet you're feeling stuck, frustrated, wondering where I'm going wrong. I work with individuals in New York who want to break old relationship patterns and build connections that actually feel good. My warm, collaborative style blends solution-focused, psychodynamic, and person-centered approaches. I offer affirming care for LGBTQIA+ clients and those in non-traditional relationships. Healing from relationship pain takes courage and care—and you don’t have to do it alone. Whether you’re single, dating, in a situationship, or exploring polyamory, we’ll move forward with curiosity, not judgment. If you’re ready to stop repeating patterns and start building relationships that feel safe and supportive, I’d be honored to work with you.

College and graduate school can be exciting, but they can also feel overwhelming. You may be struggling with stress, anxiety, low mood, loneliness, relationship challenges, questions about your identity, or the pressure to keep up academically while managing everything else in your life. For some students, adjusting to life away from home, navigating independence, or recovering from difficult experiences such as trauma or past hardships can make this time especially challenging. I'm Kate Conway, a Mental Health Counselor Fellow (MHC-F) at Modern Talk, working under the clinical supervision of our licensed directors. Working with college students and young adults is at the heart of what I do — I have a deep understanding of the unique pressures this stage of life brings, and I know how much courage it takes to ask for support when you're in the middle of it. My approach is rooted in psychodynamic and relational therapy — I work with you to understand the patterns, experiences, and relationships shaping how you think, feel, and move through the world, while drawing on practical, skills-based tools when the work calls for it. Whether you're looking for support during a difficult period, trying to better understand yourself, or hoping to build healthier coping skills and relationships, I'm here. I offer a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where you can talk openly, gain insight, and develop the tools to navigate this chapter with greater confidence and resilience.
