Tate Psychotherapy believes comfort, understanding, and fun create the ultimate therapeutic experience. We believe that growth comes from the relationship that is developed between the therapist and client, which at heart is just two human beings in a room together trying to navigate the very complicated, but beautiful condition that we all suffer from: life. Tate Psychotherapy is made up of four unique and wonderful therapists, all wildly passionate about helping others. We work together to help you overcome your most painful, challenging, and confusing moments. No matter who you work with, you will be met with compassion that does not feel sterile, but like a mini spa vacation for your soul. Our focuses include: anxiety, bullying, eating disorders, chronic health conditions, divorce, depression, grief, self esteem, dating, PTSD, behavior in school, teenage relationships and dating, blending families, communication skills, special needs, and learning disabilities. We work with children, teens, and adults
Psychotherapy is your time to grow and heal. When we struggle with different aspects of our lives it can help to talk and be listened to. I have great respect for my clients and want to help you try to achieve a more satisfying and fulfilling life. Take this time to truly get to know yourself. I am a queer feminist therapist who is body positive, sex-positive, anti-diet and HAES aligned, and I am committed to anti-racist work. My office is a safe and inclusive place for all.
Therapy with me is a collaborative process where we will work together to understand and address your needs. Through humor and vulnerability, we’ll co-create a judgment-free space for your authentic self to flourish. I utilize a mindfulness-based and relational approach to support clients in creating positive change in their lives. I have successfully supported sexually and gender diverse folx, older folx, neurodivergent folx, and poly/ENM folx dealing with issues of identity, shame, body image, trauma, and interpersonal conflict issues. I approach therapy with an anti-oppressive lens, assisting folx with unlearning internalized messages and thought patterns that prevent growth. I am excited to empower and support you in your journey of self-discovery!

Starting therapy can feel hard and overwhelming. As a licensed social worker, I create a warm, engaging, and comforting environment where we will work together to reduce your stress and help you cope with life's challenges. Within our work together, I will draw on my experience with cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, relational therapy, and trauma informed care to tailor the treatment to your needs. I specialize in working with individuals experiencing a range of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, transitions, and relationship issues. I am especially passionate about treating college students and young adults who are often facing many difficult transitions. While transitions can be very stressful, I have found that they can also be an opportunity for change and the beginnings of a new identity. I am an inclusive therapist who works to create a space that is accepting and nonjudgmental. My belief is that we all have the strength to overcome and grow through life’s challenges. I am passionate about de-stigmatizing mental health and building strong relationships with clients in order to meet their goals and develop lifelong skills. I am excited that you are here and pursuing or continuing your journey with therapy. As a therapist, I passionately believe in creating space for people and their stories. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, childhood and relational trauma, identity issues, job stress, relationship issues, and life transitions. I have worked with with teenagers and adults, as well as first-generation immigrants, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ folks. As a South Asian woman who is a first generation immigrant, I value exploring with clients how their identity and culture shapes their experience. In my work with clients I utilize a trauma informed lens as well as a holistic approach, focusing on the mind body connection and how our mental health and physical health are intertwined. I utilize various modalities in my work, primarily psychodynamic but also aspects of DBT, CBT, ACT and mindfulness techniques. I am a warm, compassionate therapist who strives to create a non-judgmental, safe space where clients can explore their past, better understand themselves, navigate life challenges and work towards well-being and self acceptance. In our first session, I look forward to hearing about what brings you to therapy and what you hope to gain from our time together. I tailor my sessions to each individual and believe in working collaboratively to meet your needs.

Hey, glad you're here! Being a student is not just about education, is it? We've got lives outside of school, and all those moving parts can get us feeling overwhelmed, going a million miles per hour all the time, burnt out, lost, unmotivated, or even just numb. I work best with clients who are open to feedback, stay consistent in their care, and stay curious to explore different perspectives of their narrative. AKA, all I ask is that you show up to this space that I will prepare for you in which you can be totally you. Without the filters, photoshop, and all the overthinking of what the "right" thing to say is. You don't have to hold onto everything you're going through alone. Let's speak it out and game plan together on a weekly basis. If you feel like you don't even have the language to describe your experience, that's okay! We can build from the ground up. Maybe it'll help to think of it like this: I'm offering therapy like a key to a secret room that no one else has access to but you and I. You can learn and master skills in our therapeutic space, and it won't impact the real world at all because what happens and is heard in here, stays in here. That could look like role-playing a confrontational discussion you might've been avoiding with your roommate or just even saying an insecurity out loud for the first time and reality-checking it. It also just might be practicing how to say 'No' to different people in your life and finally setting boundaries that actually serve you. Then, when you're ready, you take those skills into the real world, and we watch your life change, perhaps slowly, but surely. Therapist shopping can definitely be overwhelming, so I invite you to get to know me through a 10-minute consultation through Zoom. I'll answer any questions, we'll be able to put a face and voice to the name, and you can feel out the overall vibe!

Life is wonderful and really hard at the same time. Sometimes, our struggles take over and interfere with our ability to appreciate the things we love and care about. When this happens, it can turn into developing unhealthy ways of coping and a cycle of suffering. My goal is to help you learn how to reduce suffering and to develop healthier ways of coping. My approach is behavioral; we will work together towards specific goals in a proactive manner. Clients describe me as gentle, humorous, understanding, and change-oriented. I have extensive experience treating eating disorders and anxiety disorders. I practice using an evidence-based treatment model called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) model, which utilizes mindfulness, cognitive interventions, exposure techniques, and movement towards goals and values. I can also help you if you are struggling with life transitions, relationship problems, or a sense of feeling stuck in your life. I firmly believe that most people would benefit from therapy.

My intention as a psychotherapist is to create a safe and supportive environment in which people can learn and share more about themselves, and in so doing, ease their suffering and create possibilities of positive movement and change in their lives. I am grounded in a relational and psychodynamic approach. This means that I am attuned to building a respectful interactive relationship, and that I bring an awareness of the deep impact of the past on people's present lives. My practice is diverse, with a specialization in trauma focused psychotherapy. Other areas of expertise are the treatment of depression, grief and loss, anxiety, relational issues, emotional regulation, and difficulties with family of origin.
As a Creative Arts Psychotherapist and Drama Therapist, I interweave creative expressive techniques along with traditional talk therapy to support you in releasing old patterns and habits, identify places you feel stuck, and move towards a place of self acceptance, healing, and growth. My role as therapist includes being a guide and support on your unique journey, utilizing both creative expression and talk therapy depending on your needs and level of comfort. I believe that real change happens when we connect mind and body, allowing us to explore places that hold us back, and reconnect with ourselves to live a more full and joyful life. I work primarily with adolescents and young adults with anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, self esteem issues, and learning differences.
