Life can be very unpredictable and present us with significant challenges and emotional pain. These circumstances can impact our daily functioning and cause relational conflicts. With an empathetic ear, I will provide you with a safe and supportive space to begin your journey to emotional healing and growth. My therapeutic approach is to provide a warm, culturally sensitive and empathic space where you can feel safe and supported as you work to achieve your goals of growth and healing. Utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities including but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Strength-Based, Mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy I work to examine the way in which your thinking patterns impact your behaviors so that you can develop coping strategies and affect change. I am licensed clinical social worker in New Jersey and New Yotrk. I obtained my Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania and am the owner of Graceful Mind Counseling Services LLC. I work with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, women's issues, adjustment, career and academic stressors, and self esteem.

I understand that many seek therapy during very difficult times, times when overwhelming life stressors and transitions begin to interfere with daily life, relationships, or a sense of well-being. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and psychotherapist, I’m here to help adults ages 18 and up develop practical tools and insight so symptoms no longer dictate how they live. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with patients in overcoming mental health symptoms that impact day-to-day functioning. This includes discomfort in social situations due to anxiety, depression, or low motivation; or seeking treatment because of significant life challenges such as relationship discord, professional stressors and burnout, and loss. No matter the struggle, my goal is to assist in the development of tools and coping skills that help patients better manage emotions. If you relate to these struggles and are ready to hear more, please reach out today. Together, we will build practical tools, insight, and resilience so you can navigate challenges with greater confidence and clarity. I believe a strong collaborative relationship is key to helping you manage symptoms of anxiety and depression and move toward living the life you want. That’s why therapy with me is collaborative, respectful, and focused on creating a space where you feel heard and understood. Our time together is conversational, not clinical; I don’t use a lot of clinical jargon, as I feel that this approach allows for the clearest communication and reduces the presence of a power dynamic. When people ask me why I chose the field of social work and became a therapist, my answer is simple: it just seemed to fit me. My first introduction to social work and psychotherapy was during my second year of college. Of course, I had an interest in psychology, but I’ve also always had a keen curiosity about people and their stories. Social work and psychotherapy certainly allow me to combine those two interests. Still, it wasn't just the course work in those classes that caught my attention – it was the professors. They spoke with compassion about helping others in a way that was authentic and genuine. By the end of those classes, I'd found a profession that allowed me to be my authentic self and still help people. I enjoy live music and spending time at the beach when I’m not with patients. I'm also an avid hockey and baseball fan – go NY Islanders and Mets!

One of my favorite things a patient has said to me is - “Thank you for being part of my journey”. That’s what life is to me – a journey we are all on together. What I want for everyone is that they can overcome any barriers they may have so that they can become their whole selves and live life to its fullest. I work with many kinds of people from all walks of life on issues like neurodiversity, autism, anxiety, ADHD, family history, relationships, and couples’ concerns. I also have expertise working with college students, international students, young adults, and couples after working and training at the University of Rochester counseling center. I have done training specifically to provide therapy through an anti-racist lens and continue to reflect on my own whiteness. I use a mixed relational approach pulling from person centered therapy, existential therapy, DBT and more. I am committed to providing a safe, sex positive, non-judgmental space for trust and growth to happen. Are you looking for change? Are you ready to challenge unhelpful thought patterns and uncover your potential? Then give me a call or send an email and we can set up a consultation. Let’s start the conversation!

Whether you are living in physical pain or emotional pain, we will work together to help you sleep better, decrease pain, improve relationships, get "unstuck" and feel happier. One of our greatest goals as clinicians is treating you with the support and care you deserve. We not only want to help you feel better, we want to help you live better and move out of negative patterns of behavior that do not serve you. We work from an integrative perspective, meaning that we have been trained in a wide variety of psychological techniques and will combine them to help you achieve your goals. We will teach you to use the tools that help you most, so that you can continue to work with these techniques on your own, once you have completed therapy. And that sense of independence and control you gain over your own life, that will feel truly fulfilling!

In psychotherapy, I also work with people on all kinds of issues that may not have a specific diagnosis to go with them, but which still can have a big impact on wellbeing, like navigating life transitions, relationships, family, setting goals, and managing the stress of the world and of being a student or university employee! It cannot be overstated what a big deal it is that you have begun to explore finding support for yourself. This first step is one of the hardest. I’d be honored to be a resource for you during this time, and accompany you as you grow and change. The majority of my clients are high achievers of all stripes, from Ivy League students to folks attending competitive conservatories and art schools. I was a performing artist (actor, singer, musician) for 12 years in New York City before changing careers, and I specialize in working with folks who have creative identities. Many of my clients are LGBTQ+ and/or neurodivergent, and most also find themselves in overfunctioning/underfunctioning dynamics in their relationships. My main therapy modality is Internal Family Systems (IFS), as well as somatic mindfulness-based therapy (Hakomi), and experiential therapy (gestalt). Basically this means that, in therapy, I will support you in getting more familiar with your internal system by helping you track what’s happening in your mind, your body, and between you and I (the therapist and the client). I’ll also guide you towards deepening your relationship with the different “parts” of your system, learning their agendas and desires, which sometimes produce inner conflicts and create stuckness. It’s well-known that being mindful of your body and breath is a great way to reduce stress, and using this practice as real situations arise in therapy will give you a practical way to use it in your day-to-day. As you get to know your system better, you will build greater trust within yourself, allowing for stuck parts to shift and for real lasting change to occur. If you’ve been in therapy before and it just felt like venting, IFS will be different. Pro tip: the research suggests that the therapy modality you use is less important than a trusting relationship with your therapist as far as positive therapy outcomes (though I will happily talk IFS theory for days). Do your best to go with your gut feeling about who intuitively feels right when choosing a therapist, even if right now might be the hardest time to do so. If something about my practice resonates, please reach out and schedule a consultation! I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Are you struggling with mood disorders, anxiety issues, OCD, or eating disorders? I provide mental health care for adults with a multimodal approach, ensuring relevant and informed patient care personalized to your specific lifestyle, wants, and needs. You are a unique individual with your own neurobiochemical makeup, which is why we work together to create a holistic treatment plan that you feel is realistic and sustainable. My specialty is in taking in a functional approach to psychiatry, with goals to discover the root cause of symptoms, provide options for treatment, and offer education for an informed therapeutic journey. I look forward to exploring the best options for you in our work together. Working together, you can expect a collaborative, therapeutic relationship, nonjudgmental environment, and creative solutions. I believe in taking a holistic approach while practicing with current evidence-based treatments, incorporating medications, psychotherapy, lifestyle counseling, and functional/nutritional psychiatry. My style of psychotherapy is integrative, combining Mindfulness, psychodynamic, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy concepts/practices. Before becoming a Psych NP, I practiced as an RN in numerous medical specialties and discovered a passion for psychiatry over time. I saw how mental health was not equally prioritized to physical health, and believe it is all connected. This experience allows me to bring a well-rounded medical background to patient care while addressing psychiatric needs, contributing to holistic treatment.

I'm a mental health counselor specializing in anxiety, ADHD, boundary setting, life transitions, trauma, and generational trauma in young adults and adults, particularly women of color and the LGBTQIA+ community. Together, we create structure, set boundaries, and navigate identity and life changes, including bouts of depression or the weight of past childhood trauma and grief. Each patient brings their own unique life experiences, and it's important to examine those qualities together and collaborate on your goals. I look forward to supporting you on that journey. An integrative approach, drawing on person-centered and cognitive behavioral theories, shapes how I help you become the best version of yourself. Together, we'll build a collaborative process tailored to your goals. I'm passionate about supporting you on your journey toward self-discovery and personal growth, and you can expect a supportive, judgment-free environment along the way. My path to becoming a therapist began with working to reduce mental health stigma, promote community resources, and advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community. This experience deepened my commitment to bringing a compassionate, non-judgmental understanding of the complexities and nuances that often deter people of color from opening up about their struggles and seeking help – an understanding I bring to each session. When I’m not in session, I love to crochet, cook, and bake. I also enjoy traveling and caring for my plants.
