Therapists for college students near Portland State University
I work with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, burnout, compassion fatigue, and socioeconomical, environmental and climate concerns. I work with individuals that want to put the work into improving the quality of their lives and finding balance within their core values, beliefs, self-worth, interpersonal relationships, work/college, leisure time, time outdoors, and lifestyle. I work with individuals on identifying the disruption in these areas of their lives that come from stressors, distorted ways of thinking, unhealthy habits and behaviors, isolation, and a disengagement from the natural world. I specialize in CBT and ecotherapy walk and talk model. CBT is goal oriented and focuses on identifying and changing unhelpful thinking and behavior. Ecotherapy, also known as nature based therapy, utilizes nature to benefit from its healing capabilities. I integrate the two approaches which allows for increased growth and insight to find balance.
I work with all kinds of clients, but I tend to work well with clients struggling with relational issues, anxiety, depression, and trauma. I also played softball at a high level my entire life, so I have the experience to work with athletes. I believe everyone has the capacity to grow & thrive with the right support. My approach to therapy is based on the idea that relationships are fundamental to the health & well-being of my clients. My role is to collaborate with & challenge my clients to help them change their life perspectives and exist in ways that bring them both happiness & empowerment. I work from a relational perspective & rely on ideas from the Experiential approaches. However, if appropriate, I employ a variety of tools from different theoretical orientations to help my clients overcome the issues they bring to session. My goal is to meet you where you are in your life & offer a safe place for self exploration. Challenging yourself to feel motivated, in control, & confident in your abilities to achieve your goals & overcome the inevitable obstacles along the way is what therapy it all about. I look forward to meeting you!

Hi! I'm so glad you've found me! I have been in private practice for 8 years specializing in therapy with teens and young adults. I provide therapy to address things like anxiety, depression, ADHD, self esteem, difficult life transitions, stress management, self harm, suicidal ideation, etc. I am solutions focused and my goal is to partner with you to find ways to improve whatever it is that you may be struggling with. My approach is warm and friendly and I aim to do whatever I can to help you feel comfortable, supported, and heard in therapy.
I work with people in transition or who are preparing for change. Artists, actors and writers. Those in bereavement. Or who are living with a catastrophic health-related diagnosis, recent or of long duration. Caregivers. Mental health interns who need to explore their own issues in order to practice mindfully. Folks who are using substances more than they want. People who want to decrease their distress but who also have a curiosity about its sources. People who want to talk with someone about the most important thing in the world, perhaps to discover what that is. My specialty is the intuitive analysis of what is most important to you. My experience has shown me that we carry within us the answers we're looking for. My skill is in eliciting these answers and reflecting them back to you so you recognize them. I've been trained in Depth psychology, Narrative psychology and Cognitive Behavior therapy, in dream analysis and evidence-based practices like Seeking Safety. In addition to private practice I've directed multiple community mental health and recovery programs, as well as provided training and clinical supervision to new therapists.
The human experience presents unique challenges, opportunities, victories, and struggles for us all; we experience life and our feelings on various spectrums in shared systems: Sometimes the universal feelings of sadness become clinical depression. Sometimes the universal feeling of nervousness can become clinical anxiety. We describe difficulties in processing life events in terms of trauma. We look at compounding impact of transitions as stress. Therapy presents a unique opportunity to join with a trained helper in a safe environment for growth, healing, and change: both in feeling differently and exploring life changes. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who relies upon the experiential approaches of Gestalt Therapy and story-shaping techniques of narrative therapy. I regularly incorporate the techniques from evidenced-based interventions in cognitive-behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, and solution-focused brief therapy in treatment planning and assessment. I encourage you to give therapy a chance - say 3 sessions and consider how you feel about continuing. Let's explore your goals and consider a plan for growth, healing, and change. I will work collaboratively with you in treatment planning, providing regular clinical assessments to gauge your progress, and give you practical homework to make change happen.
Are you seeking therapy to better understand yourself—how you think, feel, and move through the world? How you relate to the world, and yourself? Are you curious about the deeper, more elusive questions that live beneath the surface? Are you navigating breaking generational cycles, processing sudden life shifts, grief, trauma, anxiety, or depression? I’m here to support you. We are the cartographers of our inner world—and therapy is the mapmaking. My role is to walk beside you in that discovery, offering a collaborative pace where every part of you is welcome. Grounded in evidence-based practices, and guided by warmth, humor, and deep respect, I create a safe, gently challenging environment where real healing and transformation can begin. Since 2022, I’ve supported individuals from all walks of life in Oregon and Washington through telehealth therapy. Therapy offers relief. It lightens the burden of carrying it all alone—and makes space for clarity, possibility, and change.
The world is extra stressful right now and your plate may feel way past full. You know it's time for a change. Together we can work on overcoming stressors, calming anxiety, building self-compassion and breaking free of the cycle of worry.

I work with concerns like anxiety, depression, ADHD, and mood changes that can make school and daily life feel overwhelming. Relationships are vital to our health and well-being, yet few of us have been trained how to foster and maintain healthy ones. I support the development of healthy relationship skills by focusing on emotional expression, relational skill development, and personal empowerment. Rekindling the trust, emotional connection, and playful spark necessary for healthy relationship is a process of establishing mutual goals, building new skills of emotional intelligence and embodied communication while healing old wounds. We are always, already in relationship; whether it is a relationship to another person, place, or oneself, we are in some way connected and affected by our surroundings. As such, it is in relationship that our deepest hurts can take place, and it is also in relationship that our most profound and liberating healing can occur. As a therapist, I work side-by-side with you, and it is in our own relationship together that we explore and uncover your greatest strengths, as well as all the ways you may unconsciously hold yourself back. My specialties include working with adults recovering from trauma experienced as a child or an adult. I enjoy working with individuals who are stuck in relationship patterns and are looking to break these patterns. I have expertise working with college students of all ages and people struggling with life transitions. My office is safe and affirming no matter your race, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, or physical ability.
I find that the people I work best with are curious about their own patterns and are seeking to create better relationships with themselves and the other important people in their lives. Together lets figure out which parts of your life would benefit from trying something new and which parts would benefit from some compassionate acceptance. We can re-write the parts of your story that feel the most stuck and find new ways to grow into the person you want to be.

I have been practicing therapy since 2009 and working in mental health services since 2001. I accompany people on their journey to a more grounded and liberated life by exploring how our intersecting identities and cultural experiences have led to the ways we are hurt, but also hold the keys to how we heal. For my clients, these layers of oppression may result in anxiety, depression, trauma, and racial identity concerns. We'll work together to process your experience, draw out your strengths, and support your goals. I love working with Asian American adults, and other People of Color, to connect the impacts of history, oppression, and culture on mental health and wellbeing.
Hello! I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults, and love working with college students. I work well with students who want to develop more coping methods for anxiety and stress, and/or students who may be experiencing difficulty adjusting to college life - socially and/or academically. I have years of experience working with college athletes, both as a college baseball coach, and in student-athlete academic support. I am passionate about helping athletes develop skills for dealing with stress and anxiety, both on and off the field.
My clients are often struggling to find peace in their relationships to food, movement, and themselves. They are often motivated to find healing but unsure of where to start. They may have struggled with an eating disorder or disordered eating, but not always. I believe my clients are already holding the tools they need to work towards a more harmonious life.
