Mental health is the foundation of everything: our health, happiness, success, and sense of community. As a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, I use evidence based treatments and a holistic approach to help support individuals navigating mental health challenges. My education at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) and my 6 years of practice at the Center for Hope and Health have provided invaluable experience and specialized training using CBT interventions to treat anxiety, depression, OCD, eating disorders, and trauma-stressor related disorders. I am trained in a variety of evidence based models including Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for Eating Disorders, and Prolonged Exposure for PTSD, which enhances my ability to provide targeted interventions for clients. I am committed to providing an empathetic and warm approach to therapy coupled with evidence based techniques in order to create a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings, build resilience, and to heal. The search for a counselor/therapist can be overwhelming. It is my goal to present a clear and comprehensive picture of my services and approach to therapy. I strive to create an environment where my clients can feel accepted, safe and understood. You are the expert on your life. My job is to make sure that you are utilizing all your expertise. Are you someone who feels that life has no meaning or purpose? Are feelings of depression and anxiety holding you back from finding your true potential? Many times, life transitions and sudden change can magnify these feelings of uncertainty. You are not alone. I specialize in assisting those who are uncertain of what they need or want from life. Learn ways to manage your discomfort so that you can begin to focus on what is truly important to you. The best time to consider counseling is when troubled thinking or behaviors begins to affect your daily living; jobs, friendships, family and intimate relationships. For some, these issues may be longstanding patterns that began years ago. For others, sudden changes such as a loss, crisis, trauma or addiction can trigger unfamiliar feelings that paralyze your ability to get through the day. My focus is on that voice in the head we all hear. It is the voice that shapes our perceptions of people, the world and ourselves. It is the voice that tells us that we are deficient, that life is scary, that things are never going to get better. Those thoughts are not as significant as you may believe.
You may look like you have it all together yet inside you feel anxious, exhausted, or like you’re never “enough.” The need to be “perfect”, frequent memories of past traumatic experiences, or challenges navigating unfulfilling relationships may have left you feeling disconnected from yourself and who you believe you truly are. You want to feel present, more confident, and at peace with yourself - to stop just “surviving” and start healing. My approach is rooted in EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and mindfulness-based therapies, aiming to help release the emotional charge of painful memories while gaining greater self-awareness, compassion, and balance. Together, we’ll work to heal old wounds, quiet self-doubt, and cultivate a more grounded, fulfilling life. You don’t have to carry the weight of “having it all together” anymore. In doing the work, you can reconnect with your strength and rediscover peace within yourself. If this resonates with you, I invite you to reach out. Healing can begin with one courageous step.

Stephanie is a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and a Certified School Counselor for children in grades K-12. She holds a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology and a Bachelor's of Science degree in Developmental Psychology. Prior to working at Cornerstone Wellness, she was a School Counselor for 12 years in a public-school setting and also spent two years prior to that working as a School Counselor at a Cyber-School. Stephanie did mental health counseling in a private practice setting and worked at the post-secondary level as an Academic Advisor at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh as well. She is very passionate about working with young adults and strongly believes that all people are deserving of love and respect. "In order for positive change to happen, we need to work together as a team to support your goals of achieving happiness, success, balance, and peace. I know that this season of life can come with many challenges but I vow to work closely with you to create a therapeutic plan that we both feel comfortable with". Stephanie's therapeutic approach is centered around a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) model which helps people to understand how their thoughts and emotions affect their behaviors. Her goal is to help her clients learn how to replace their negative thought patterns with more productive ones which will then, in turn, change their behaviors. She knows that teaching people how to shift their mindsets and how to discover new ways of thinking will help them to respond differently to life's stressors and ultimately improve their overall well-being. Stephanie understands that counseling can seem "scary" at first but prides herself on making sessions collaborative and relaxed. She wants therapy to be a safe place where her clients can feel comfortable to just be themselves! "I truly love what I do and I see it as a privilege to witness the change and growth that can happen for my clients as they move through therapy. With that being said, I hope to become a person that they trust and look forward to spending time with."

You're exhausted. Not just tired, exhausted. The kind that sleep doesn't touch. You've been holding it together, pushing through, showing up for everyone else. And somewhere along the way, you stopped feeling like yourself. Maybe you've tried therapy before. Read the books, downloaded the apps, done the work. And yet here you are, same patterns, same weight, same wall. That doesn't mean you're broken. It means you haven't found the right fit yet. This is a space where you don't have to perform progress or have the perfect words ready. Just come as you are. About my approach: I use EMDR, Narrative, Emotion-Focused, and attachment-based approaches all grounded in cultural humility. But honestly? My clients usually come in expecting someone serious and clinical. Then they realize I laugh easily, I swear sometimes, and yes, I will absolutely do a mini chair-dance when you hit a milestone. No poker face here. About me: I'm a first-generation Latinx, LGBTQIA+ woman who grew up in a multigenerational household where family, community, and education weren't just values, they were survival. That lived experience shows up in how I work: with warmth, cultural humility, and full presence.
