Hi! My name is Michelle and I have a passion for working with women in the perinatal population, children, and athletes to improve their mental sport performance game! Navigating college and adulthood can be challenging and overwhelming! There is a lot to juggle and sometimes it can feel like a lot or you have to manage it alone. School or being an athlete can feel like a full time job. So it’s okay if you need someone to talk to, someone who’s been there and gets it. Because you don’t have to handle everything by yourself.
Hello, I’m Joanna, a compassionate and experienced psychotherapist dedicated to helping adults navigate life’s challenges. Whether you're struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship concerns, co-dependency, low self-esteem, emotional regulation, or everyday stressors, I provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard and understood. Together, we will explore the challenges you're facing, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical tools to help you create meaningful, lasting change. My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and tailored to your unique needs, empowering you to build resilience, gain clarity, and improve your overall well-being. I earned my degrees from Northern Kentucky University with honors, specializing in Trauma-Informed Care, and I am currently pursuing my doctorate to further expand my clinical expertise. I utilize a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches to ensure treatment is personalized to your goals and experiences. You don't have to navigate life's challenges alone. Taking the first step toward therapy is a courageous decision, and I'm here to support you every step of the way. Together, we can work toward helping you heal, grow, and create the life you deserve.
In a few weeks, you could be unstuck from what’s holding you back. Let’s get started. If you’ve never been in therapy, I’ll make this easy. If you're coming back, I’ll honor what you already know. We’ll get to know each other and understand what you'd like to change. During our sessions, you will always be the expert in how your life works, and I’ll share with you a research-based approach to creating mental health. We'll work toward goals as a team, in a process that fits your unique background (e.g., race, ethnicity, gender, sex, sexual orientation identity, religious affiliation); respecting your values is important to me. I use treatments that we know work. These therapies not only help you overcome problems you’re experiencing right now, but I’ll teach you skills to resolve future problem that might come your way, too. While handling emotions in a new way might feel strange, I’ll be there to walk you through the process. I completed a Ph.D. in counseling psychology at the University of Utah, and fellowship in trauma psychology at the South Texas VA. I live in San Antonio, Texas, where I am a professor at the University of Texas School of Medicine. In my free time, I love fitness and exploring small Texas towns. I’m Lizzie Holley, a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) based in Collin County. I help adults (18+) who are seeking support, healing, and greater self-understanding. I specialize in working with individuals navigating anxiety, life and faith transitions, grief, religious and spiritual trauma, chronic illness, medical trauma, identity exploration, and relationship challenges. I’m LGBTQ+ affirming and committed to creating a space where clients feel safe showing up fully as themselves. I also bring lived experience navigating disability and chronic medical challenges, which informs my work with clients coping with chronic illness, medical trauma, and adapting to bodies or lives that haven’t unfolded as expected. My approach to therapy is warm, honest, relational, direct, and grounded in curiosity. I believe healing happens in spaces where people feel seen rather than judged. Therapy with me is collaborative. We’ll work together to better understand your patterns, emotions, relationships, and story while building practical tools for growth and resilience. I draw from approaches including CBT, ACT, narrative, and somatic therapy, while always tailoring the process to the individual sitting in front of me.

The college experience is not what Hollywood would have you believe. In addition to being academically challenging, students often face other challenges such as learning how to navigate the logistics of life (such as making it to an 8:00 a.m. class!) without the oversight and structure of parents, learning how to establish new friendships, learning relationship skills, and finding balance in their lives. It can simply be overwhelming. You may just need a little help. I am an LCSW and have 30 years experience in the social work field and have spent the past 6 years providing mental health counseling with students in a university setting - my favorite population ever! I have worked with students dealing with adjustment to college, executive functioning, relationship issues and navigating helicopter parents. College students can find themselves experiencing depression, anxiety, OCD and sometimes this is the age when issues like bipolar disorder and schizophrenia arise. Sometimes past trauma begins to rear its ugly head and cause issues that need addressing. Asking for professional help can be scary; but can help you determine if you might just need some skills to help you better cope or if you have deeper issues going on. Just know that you are the one in control in counseling sessions - I can't insist you share more than you are ready to share or "make" you do anything you don't want to do! You are the boss! I would love to walk with you in your journey! This can be a very exciting time and we want you to make the most of the opportunity.

Your first session is a low-pressure conversation where we’ll talk about what’s been weighing on you, what you want to change, and what support could look like. According to the American Psychological Association, mental health therapy can help a person going through a challenging life event or situation, treat mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder, and address symptoms like sadness, guilt, or anger. The process is also helpful when dealing with relationships with family, friends, and coworkers. I work with adults and adolescents, as well as couples and groups. I have found a niche working with first responders experiencing moral injury, generational trauma and estrangement, adoption, abortion, and miscarriage issues, chronic pain, DNA testing matters, grief, loss, and suicide prevention, intimacy issues, legal/offender issues, overcoming church hurt or past abuse, parental alienation, sexual assault/rape, and low self-esteem and self-confidence. I would be honored to work with you as you begin to live your best life. Counseling can help you as you confront long-standing life issues, or specific concerns that need to be addressed. The length of counseling can range from several weeks to several months, depending on the number of issues that will be discussed.
