My specialty areas include, recovery from alcohol and drugs, depression, anxiety, relationship and life transition issues. I utilize various theoretical orientations in order to tailor my therapeutic interventions to client needs and goals. I have trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy and EMDR. My experience includes: The honor of providing direct psychotherapy services to individuals of various ages. I gained valuable clinical skills as a crisis therapist at the emergency rooms. My experience also includes serving as clinical director at both substance abuse and mental health centers. I believe in the restorative power of hope. Over the course of my career I have been able to support clients to internalize the belief that they can make change in their lives. From focusing on eliminating inner negative chatter to processing an acute trauma, I strive to create opportunities for the achievement of one's goals. Through partnership, trust and the sharing of knowledge, real movement can occur. There is hope. Licensed as both a mental health and addictions specialist counselor, I work with both individuals and couples. I practice remotely in Colorado and Rhode Island. My practice approach starts with identifying how to begin shifting what isn't providing benefit, with behavioral, cognitive and emotional evolution. This is a strengths-based, collaborative process grounded in trust and respect. I completed my Master of Arts and Master of Education in Psychological Counseling at Teachers College, Columbia University. My deep professional satisfaction is grounded in the experience of growth and recovery that clients obtain through our efforts. I am available for initial phone consultations to discuss your needs and how we might partner in your care.
Are you an overthinker? Do your emotions interfere with your relationships? Our human brains are fascinating in what they allow us to accomplish, but sometimes they can be our own worst enemy! Sometimes overwhelming emotions and unhelpful thoughts interfere with our lives and cause significant distress. I created my practice to help people "be okay when things are not okay." This is done using a person-centered dialectical-behavior therapy (DBT) approach to help you gain insight into yourself while providing you with the tools and encouragement to thrive instead of just survive. I want you to leave each session feeling validated and more confident in your ability to cope with life on life's terms! I also specialize in treating complex PTSD and am trained in EMDR.
I am a compassionate and experienced clinical and sport psychologist dedicated to supporting high achievers in cultivating both mental well-being and peak performance. With a deep appreciation for the diverse journeys of athletes, military service members, and first responders, I strive to create a space where individuals feel seen, understood, and empowered. My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and rooted in evidence-based strategies that foster resilience, growth, and lasting change. Whether you’re navigating the pressures of high performance, overcoming challenges, or striving for personal and professional excellence, I am here to support you. I believe in a holistic, personalized approach to care—one that honors your unique experiences and strengths. If you’re seeking guidance in managing mental health, optimizing performance, or finding balance amid life’s transitions, we can work together to help you thrive.
Licensed as a Professional Counselor, I work with individuals, couples, families, and groups. Graduating in 1998 from the University of Colorado, I received a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Studies. I have completed PACT 3 training and EMDR 2 training. I have served as the professional consultant for the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance for the Longmont/Firestone Chapter. My experience includes working with clients in multiple settings including psychiatric hospitals, public schools, mental health agencies, therapeutic day schools, and residential treatment facilities. Spanning more than 20 years, my therapy practice has evolved to include particular therapeutic theories and techniques that are not only effective in improving the lives of my clients but that also speak to my personal interests and values. In my therapy practice I work with individuals, couples and families facing many life challenges, including mood disorders, anxiety, personality disorders and trauma. My therapeutic approach is predicated on the knowledge that each of us has a family of origin and series of life events that deeply impact the way we function in our current work, family and love relationships. Understanding the "why" of a particular struggle can promote self-understanding, compassion and acceptance, and facilitate healing. Specially trained and certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and having utilized it in practice for almost twenty years, I've had the privilege of aiding in the recovery of clients who have endured extreme emotional trauma such as abuse, neglect, combat, death of a loved one and unexpected loss. Utilizing EMDR has had a profound effect on me as I have repeatedly witnessed the relief of suffering and ultimate liberation from the lasting effects of trauma. In couples therapy, I am trained in PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy), which integrates neuroscience, attachment theory and arousal regulation to help explain the ways in which couples relate to one another. The goal of this model is to establish a secure functioning system for the partnership. When not in my office I spend time in our beautiful Colorado with my loving husband of over two decades and my three wonderful children. My family, friends, nature, travel and yoga practice are essential elements of my own personal strength and growth.
Many of the clients I work best with are young adults navigating major transitions — starting college, adjusting to new expectations, exploring identity, building relationships, or trying to figure out what comes next. I previously worked at CU Boulder supporting students through the Early Intervention Program and Collegiate Recovery Community, and I understand many of the unique challenges that come with this stage of life. My approach combines traditional therapy with mindfulness and body awareness to help you better understand yourself, manage stress and anxiety, and build a stronger connection with your thoughts, emotions, and needs. Many people come to therapy understanding why they feel stuck but still struggling to create lasting change. Together, we’ll slow down, explore what is happening beneath the surface, and develop greater self-compassion, flexibility, and choice. If you're feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck in old patterns, or simply wanting to better understand yourself, I’d be honored to support you. A free 20-minute consultation is an opportunity to see if working together feels like the right fit.

I work with individuals and couples who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of why the same patterns keep showing up in their lives or relationships. Maybe you're navigating the stress of college, anxiety, self-doubt, family and relationship challenges, or a big life transition. A Stoa Therapy provider. For most families, finding a qualified speech-language pathologist means long waitlists, limited local options, and clinics that don't take their insurance. For adults navigating a voice disorder or recovering from a stroke, the barriers are just as real. We built Stoa Therapy to solve that. By delivering care over telehealth and working directly with insurance, we connect patients across Virginia, Colorado, Illinois, and Louisiana with SLPs who have specialized training in exactly what they need. The result is care that's easier to start, easier to sustain, and genuinely effective. Get matched, visit: https://stoa-therapy.com/
Welcome! Many women in college come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, disconnected, or unsure, often caught in patterns they’re ready to change. You might be navigating college adjustments, emotional stress, social or relationship challenges, trauma or loss, attachment patterns, self-discovery, spirituality, self-esteem or belonging, women’s issues, or major life transitions. Drawing from Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems, and Dance/Movement Therapy, I integrate body awareness, nervous system and parts work, creative expression, and practical tools to support emotional regulation, insight, and meaningful change. Healing often begins in small moments of being truly met. I believe it unfolds through authentic, non-judgmental connection, where curiosity, attunement, and care create space to rediscover who you are. I offer a warm, supportive presence that nurtures resilience, clarity, self-trust, joy, and a deepening sense of belonging within yourself.
