I am a psychotherapist in Boulder, Colorado and have spent my career working with people to find solutions, move towards recovery and create positive change in their lives. My focus is helping you to figure out the path forward to improve your quality of life. That might mean finding emotional stability, processing trauma, creating personal growth, or improving relationships. I have worked with college students, both undergraduate and graduate students, for the last 10 years at the University of Colorado Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS) doing individual, group and couples therapy. Upon starting private practice, I intentionally found an office close to campus as I hoped to continue working with students. I love working with students on the challenges that come up in college and grad school such as adjusting to college and academic stress, processing issues that you may have hoped to leave at home, or working through new experiences or traumas that are causing distress. I seek to provide my clients with a safe and non-judgmental space in order to move towards emotional health and stability. I specialize in EMDR trauma therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Mindfulness based treatments to help with trauma, anxiety, depression, mood disorders and feeling stuck in life.
In the role of therapist, my initial priority is creating the safety and familiarity that is crucial to do real work together. I look at the therapeutic process as an opportunity to work with the person coming to me in need of support, and tackle their issues as a team. I bring a nonjudgmental, open-minded approach to my clients and emphasize the importance of clients feeling secure enough to say anything they need to in the space we curate together. My approach has an emphasis on self-compassion and becoming in tune with your emotions and body. In today’s world, it is easier than ever to become disconnected from your body and feelings. My hope is that we can work together to reintegrate your inner wisdom to your conscious level of awareness.
I'm an LGBTQIA+, anxiety, and trauma therapist, working with students across Colorado. Do you feel weighed down by anxiety, trauma, identity struggles, or the lasting impact of religious harm? Many of my clients are LGBTQIA+ adults or survivors of religious trauma who carry exhaustion, dread, and fear from living in systems that questioned, silenced, or shamed who they are. Clients also come to me with anxiety, which often shows up as hypervigilance, burnout, or the ache of feeling like you're not enough. You may long for healing and the freedom to be fully yourself. You are not alone, healing is possible, and your story matters. I provide affirming, trauma-informed therapy rooted in narrative, somatic, and liberation-focused practices. Together we’ll untangle harmful messages that have shaped you, teach your body to feel safe, calm your nervous system, and re-author the stories holding you back. You'll reclaim your identity while moving toward a more authentic and empowered life. As a queer-affirming, feminist, and anti-oppressive therapist, I offer care that is tender, respectful, and at the right pace for you. Whether you’re healing from trauma, recovering from a harmful spiritual background, or seeking growth beyond anxiety or hard life transitions, I'll walk with you in it. Click on my website, email me, or call/text (719)-626-1427 to learn more.
Hello, I'm Melissa. I support students to get clear on their academic path, work through difficult emotions, and feel more confident and grounded. Many of my clients come to me feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or unsure about their direction in life. Others struggle with perfectionism, burnout, or relationship challenges. I have 20 years experience as a clinical social worker, and I offer a safe, supportive and easy-going approach. I like to infuse mindfulness and humor into my sessions, while also keeping my clients on task and clear about goals. Over the years, I’ve helped hundreds of students heal, grow, and create more meaningful lives. I also specialize in helping clients strengthen their intuition. Developing a clear inner knowing makes it easier to trust yourself when making decisions, so you can feel more centered, confident, and at ease in your own skin. If you want to see if we're a good fit, I offer free 15 minute consultations so I can learn more about you and get a better sense of how I might be able to help. We can talk over any questions or concerns you have. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Hello! I’m Emily, A Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado. My goal is to work to help others build healthy relationships in their personal and professional lives. Think of me as your self awareness gurue, family role interpreter and boundary builder. I work with Individuals as well as couples using the Gottman method. My goal is to help you discover yourself in new ways and bring awareness to themes in your life and how they relate to your family of origin. I have spent the last 10 years working on my craft to care for others and help break unhealthy cycles. I draw from CBT and TF-CBT strategies, DBT strategies, family systems, Gottman and relational psychodynamics to help others with anxiety, depression, processing loss and trauma, as well as, family conflict and relationship issues. I use DBT and client centered therapy techniques to help pay attention to your emotional experience, identify the role you play or played in your family that is still being played out in other relationships today. I help you find self acceptance in your own personality and build awareness of how that is impacted by others. Are you the middle man, the scapegoat, a leader, the avoider or the drama queen? No matter your role, you are enough! Let’s dive into how your role in your family unit contributes to unhealthy cycles that have happened in the past or happening now. I use reenactments in sessions, CBT and family systems strategies to bring awareness to how your role in their family may be contributing to unhealthy cycles. What is your “no” and what is your “yes”. Sometimes we don’t know what that is, but I’m here to help you figure it out. Together we can identify the boundaries that need to be created for a more healthy lifestyle and grieve the boundaries that did not exist in the past and learn how to have “repair moments”. I’m here to build up your self care and create coping skills that serve well in establishing healthy relationships.

The Department of Psychology at the University of Colorado maintains the Raimy Clinic as a training site for graduate students in the Clinical Psychology PhD program. The primary goal of the Clinic is to provide an introduction to clinical training for clinical psychology graduate students. The secondary goal of the Clinic is the provision of quality psychological services to the community at large. An additional goal of the Clinic is the integration of research and clinical training. Because of the training function of the Clinic, we offer psychological services at substantially reduced fees, assessed on the basis of a sliding scale, with low flat rates for full-time CU Boulder students, faculty, or staff. We are a fee for service clinic and do not accept insurance. Credit card payments are made through a secure online system. My practice begins with a kind, compassionate and safe introduction to the therapy process. We will explore what you want in your life and how to get there. Together we will follow your questions, concerns and goals, so you can discover new options. These are some of the questions we can explore. How can I make decisions that lead to a clear purpose? Why do I feel depressed? What is all this anxiety about? What can I do to feel better now? Drawing on eastern and western psychology, we will work together to develop the tools and inner resources to achieve your life goals including learning self compassion, and developing awareness of your thoughts, feelings and behaviors - through traditional talk therapy, mindfulness, creating art, and journaling. Please see my psychology today profile for more information and a complete list of insurance I accept.

Hello and welcome! I am a licensed marriage & family therapist. I worked with clients in the La Jolla/San Diego area for many years before moving across the country to Florida. I work with individuals, couples, and families to help each person resolve problems, to create more satisfying relationships, and to live more fulfilling and meaningful lives. I specialize in treating anxiety disorders, couples conflict, substance abuse, eating disorders, chronic illness, and pre-marital issues, but I also have experience helping people through a wide range of other problems that may be bothering them (please see "Services Provided" for more detailed information).
