Counselor
Centennial, CO

Amanda Bear is a powerful facilitator of healing. Working with Amanda will allow you to dive deep into the patterns that cause dysfunction within a secure and connected relationship. Amanda’s experience in addiction work allows her to look at how to address a system rather than a symptom. She uses a variety of conventional and non traditional techniques in therapy to create a curated experience to each client’s need. Her clients can expect to feel empowered, understood, and hopeful. Amanda’s role as a counselor is to sit with, and accept, the discomfort life gives while providing the space needed to heal. At the heart of Amanda's work is helping others discover their truest selves so that they may flourish. Amanda believes that we are wounded in relationships and we must heal in relationships. This is why she tends to the therapeutic relationship in order to provide the experience of feeling safe. Amanda’s experience in high pressure environments allows her to cultivate her practice to heal the wounds that cause dysfunction . She is a highly sought out change agent who uses her diverse experience in the field to create a therapeutic experience that restores connection.

Finding a therapist is so much fun! Said no one, ever...We're likely a fit if you feel like others' don't get you/your lifestyle, consider yourself an outlier, or identify with a marginalized community, and/or is a high-risk/risk-taker. Also, if you use substances recreationally, medicinally, spiritually, and/or problematically I'd love to hear more and support your relationship with those substances. Contact me to schedule a free consultation and we can discuss more than what 640 characters allow. Stay rad & be kind. For folx seeking Clinical Supervision for LPC and/or LAC hrs, I ONLY take post-grads. If you found me through the Board of Nursing for SUD assessment, contact me to discuss this process, fee, and I require IN-PERSON evaluation for this. I care for my clients and recognize this is your life, time, finances, and energy. You are the expert in your life and I'm here to help explore what may be getting in the way of your highest self. I am honored to work with someone who has the desire to feel seen, heard, and allowed to be their authentic selves in a judgement-free and supportive environment.

Deciding to seek therapy can be a hard step to take because it means facing your problems rather than running away from them. When we experience uncomfortable emotions, our instinct a lot of the time is to avoid it and convince ourselves (as well as others) that we're okay. This may lead to short-term relief, however, we often don't realize that it also leads to long-term growth of the issue. This is one way we end up in vicious cycles of depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem (which is difficult enough to deal with on top of college adjustments). My goal is to assist individuals with breaking this cycle by gaining new perspectives on their life situations and in turn empowering them to achieve their personal goals. If you're ready to take the first step toward a brighter future, I would be honored to work with you.

Group practice
Lakewood, CO

Tribe has a unique organizational culture that sets them apart from other group therapy practices. Within the group, they foster a growth-minded attitude that is safe and supportive. Each therapist in the practice seeks personal growth, so that they may be their best selves for their clients. Their services are moderately priced, offering excellent services, including workshops, retreats, and mental health therapy to individuals, groups, children and adults. People who are ready to commit to being open and vulnerable, and try new tools that they learn from a Tribe therapist, will find that they are not alone in their struggles and there is a path to help them feel better. Being in college can be a super fun, but stressful time. Our therapists understand the pressure you can face while trying to find your path in life. Current clients love working with our team, some stating, "I don't know why I didn't do it sooner!".

Clinical Social Work/Therapist
Denver, CO

I specialize in helping people through difficult times, whether due to a loss or a transition. It is in these times that we feel most afraid, lost, and unsure of the way forward. It is all too common that we cope with adversity by being hard on ourselves, withdrawing in shame, or disconnecting from what nourishes us. I will help you find the tools and skills within yourself to move forward and create a new life. I will work with you to accept where you are now, find the strengths and skills you already have, and use them to climb out of your current state of unhappiness, guilt, or numbness, and toward more flexibility, joy, love, and gratitude. I use various techniques and modalities to achieve this with you, but the primary tool I use is Self- Compassion. Finding the support you need right now is important to your healing journey. I offer a non-judgmental, compassionate perspective that focuses on reframing your experience, and providing relief from suffering in the moment. The pain and fear of depression and anxiety can often cause feelings of isolation and despair, but you don't have to go through it alone.

My specialty is ‘extreme stuckness’. My approach is intense, caring, tough, and free-flowing rather than structured. My therapy groups are full of challenging, brilliant, courageous people who seek depth and growth. All the therapists in our group practice are trained in a meta-approach called "Feedback Informed Treatment" which means that we track how things are going session-by-session to see if anything needs to change about our work together to help you get where you want to go.

I find that life transitions can be overwhelming and feel lonely. Life transitions can look like anything: leaving home, starting college, loosing your job, finding out you have a chronic illness, getting married, getting divorced, loosing a loved one, having a baby, or discovering you're an addict, to name a few. Sure there's books on a lot of different subjects and friends can be helpful. But everything has it's limits. Maybe nobody seems very willing to listen, maybe that's even just it, there's nobody to listen, or maybe you don't want to overwhelm others. I put on a lot of different hats: listener, advocate, leader, cheerleader, challenger, teacher, validator, coach, researcher, or surrogate. We do whatever it takes to get you to the point where you feel like you're done with therapy. Most often I find people feel that they are done when they feel at peace.
