Have you ever thought to yourself— “I need someone to talk to, but struggle to open up”... “I just can’t seem to snap out of this sadness”... “I feel like I have no sense of direction”... “I feel overwhelmed”... Feeling lost, overwhelmed, or stuck can make life a constant struggle. Sometimes, our subconscious thoughts lead us to repeat the same actions even when we want to change, creating a cycle that feels difficult to break. If you're struggling with anxiety, depression, or a past trauma, you don't have to do it alone. It takes great courage to open up to someone and ask for help. If you’re ready to take that step, I’m here to support and empower you to learn, grow and process whatever is on your mind. I provide counseling to children and adults and utilize a solutions-focused, strengths-based approach. Please call or send a message if you think we might be a good fit.

The challenges facing young adults in college are complex and numerous. I've developed a broad understanding of these kinds of issues throughout my years in private practice. Struggles with stress, anxiety, social issues, body image, issues around family and simply adulting are real and sometimes feel immense. However, I do believe the college years are a transformative time and these years can be an opportunity to become more self aware as well as an opportunity to be the person you want to be. I look forward to working with people who are wanting to take the next steps in their personal growth. While the path to growth and wellness can be difficult, it is a crucial endeavor and I would be honored to help you along your journey.

Are the constant stressors of life wearing down on you? Have you lost motivation to do the things that once brought you joy? Do you find yourself isolating from your support system? You are not broken. You have so much magic inside of you waiting to come back to the surface! Are the constant stressors of life wearing down on you? Have you lost motivation to do the things that once brought you joy? Do you find yourself isolated from your support system? Are you blaming yourself for feeling this way? You are not broken and have so much magic inside of you waiting to come back to the surface. Let's talk! Life is full of stressors, it is something that is not always controllable...and that can make us feel out of control and spiral into a place of feeling stuck. While life might not always be a constant, there are ways to practice self-love and seek hope in all of life's moments. I will not pretend to be an expert on your life because the only person who truly knows your story is YOU. I aim to provide a space where problem-solving, strengths, and motivations can be explored together. Life is full of stressors that are out of our control, which may make you feel stuck. While life might not always be a constant, there are ways to practice self-love. If you feel I can help you alongside your journey of healing, give me a call today and we can create a plan together.

Therapy is a journey where you learn more about yourself, your internal experience, and your loved ones in order to change your life based on your own goals and values. I can help you and/or other members of your family gain flexibility in your thoughts and actions through experiential skill development. At times, therapy can involve vulnerability and emotional expression; while at other times, it can be playful and enlightening. My goal is to create a warm and safe environment where emotions, thoughts, memories, and other internal experiences can be explored with compassion and understanding. I have experience in treating trauma, anxiety, OCD, insomnia, depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, and interpersonal concerns using a variety of evidence based treatments. I work best with students who are high-achieving, thoughtful, and often putting a lot of pressure on themselves to succeed. Many of the students I support feel anxious, overwhelmed, or burned out, even when things look “fine” on the outside. I also work closely with students from multicultural backgrounds who are navigating identity, family expectations, or a sense of not fully belonging. I have extensive experience supporting students who have been impacted by trauma, including sexual assault, relationship violence, and other difficult life experiences. I spent four years working at the Office of Victim Assistance at CU Boulder, and I bring a steady, compassionate approach to creating a space where students feel safe, supported, and in control of their healing process.

Christopher Cannon
My journey into the world of mental health services has come through my own struggles with adoption trauma, addiction, and long-term depression. Such conditions have made me an avid researcher of the human mind and heart, and a passionate experimenter of the means by which we transform both. This research and experimentation has (thankfully) fine-tuned my relationship skills and made me fluent in many languages of internal exploration. The most impactful of all of these have been the practices of meditation and somatic psychotherapy. I have spent nearly twenty years exploring them in depth and I would love to share them with you.
