Therapists for college students near Boulder, CO
Jane M. Wells, JD, PHD
As a practicing psychologist for over 30 years (and a short time before that as an attorney), I understand the importance of having someone to speak with about our worries, questions, changes and even our daily lives. I see adults and adolescents who seek support in navigating stressful situations and not only reaching resolution on that issue, but also learning about themselves in deeper ways. I listen closely and with an open mind. I'm supportive and encouraging and help you make connections to patterns that can rework things you would like to change and do differently. Whether we are working on immediate problem resolution or exploring family/social dynamics, it's important that you feel understood, heard and supported in session. It's also important that you have direct, clear feedback that is experienced as helpful and insightful. Not every session is likely to be groundbreaking, but together, we can work toward defining and reaching your therapeutic goals.

Challenges are essential to growth. We all face challenges. The various challenges, crises, traumas we all inevitably encounter can create anxiety, depression, and disconnection. Unfortunately, labels and diagnoses can stop you from seeing that you are okay. As you are. Your felt experiences of hurt, when processed deeply, actually lead to self-discovery. Seeking help doesn’t mean that anything is necessarily wrong. In fact, expertise can guide you through these moments safely. Through somatic healing therapy, individuals and couples will find inner strength to start anew. I am a somatic therapist who counsels individuals and couples to honor who they truly are. Together, we explore new ways to cope with conflicts, and the challenges presented in day-to-day life. Bring all of yourself to therapy. You’ll create better relationships with yourself and others as a result. So, get comfortable. Let’s find what brings you joy and helps you feel fulfilled. Break through. Ultimately, this process is about loving and becoming more of yourself.

Have you been feeling stuck in your relationships, unsure how to speak up for what you really need? Do you find yourself caught between who you are and who you think you’re supposed to be? You deserve a space where you can explore what’s happening internally, with curiosity instead of judgment. As a therapist, I work with individuals and couples navigating trauma recovery, emotional disconnection, and relationship challenges. I have particular expertise supporting survivors of abuse, as well as individuals seeking to deepen their emotional awareness and honest communication skills. No matter where you are in your healing process, I foster a safe, welcoming environment where you can feel grounded and empowered to reclaim your voice.

Are you a woman working through early recovery and building toward a thriving life, or a hospice patient or family member searching for meaning and peace at the end of life? As a Master of Social Work student, these are the experiences I've spent the last few years navigating with patients. Compassion, honesty, and kindness are central to my approach, and I am dedicated to offering all of these to strengthen our work together. My experience with addiction, grief, end-of-life care, and meditation has helped me develop a well-rounded approach that prioritizes acceptance, patience, and mindfulness. Helping women meet loss, fear, and pain, while also holding deep reverence for the beauty in their lives, is something I'm passionate about. Working together, you can expect a calm, accepting environment that welcomes all parts of you. I honor you as the expert of your life, and look forward to walking alongside you on your unique journey. The loss of my mother in 2023 marked the beginning of my path to social work. Following in her footsteps, I began working with women in early recovery from addiction, and eventually interned with a hospice agency through my MSW program. These experiences deepened both my admiration for her and my understanding of addiction, death, grief, and the healing process. My own experiences with pain and healing, both personally and professionally, allow me to center compassion in each session with you. Art is one of my greatest loves. I find joy in creative expression, often working with pen, watercolor, and acrylic paint. Staying active brings me just as much joy, and I love to trail run, hike, and meditate. Cats have my whole heart, and I'm brand new to snowboarding.

With more than 25 years of experience in behavioral health as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC), I help adults from diverse backgrounds, including LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent individuals, navigate trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction and recovery, identity concerns, life transitions, relationship patterns, and questions of meaning or spirituality. My specialties also include depth psychotherapy, psychedelic integration, and identity and spiritual exploration for adults seeking healing, self-understanding, and meaningful personal transformation. I believe in meeting each person with compassion, interest, and respect for the complexity of their lived experience. As your therapist, my role is to be a collaborative and supportive partner who helps you explore not only what’s hurting, but also the strengths, meaning, and possibilities for growth within your experience. You don't need to have everything figured out before beginning therapy; we can discover the path together. If you're curious about yourself, I’m here to help you understand not only what you're struggling with, but the deeper emotional, relational, and unconscious patterns underlying those struggles, so you can move toward greater authenticity and a more grounded, meaningful relationship with yourself and your life. I look forward to helping you gain greater self-understanding, connection, and a life that feels more authentic, grounded, and fully your own. Depth-oriented, humanistic, somatic, and trauma-informed methods, along with spiritually integrated psychotherapy, shape how I help you explore the deeper patterns beneath what brought you to therapy. I bring genuine and deep attunement to your unique inner world and experience, as I'm passionate about helping you understand not just what's happening, but why. My style is curious, compassionate, and authentic, allowing me to tailor therapy to your needs, identity, and goals. You can expect a warm, nonjudgmental environment where all parts of your experience are welcome as we work together. Through this work, you can create meaningful, lasting change. My path to becoming a therapist grew from a longstanding interest in healing, contemplative practice, and understanding the deeper dimensions of the human experience. Over the years, working with people across diverse identities and life circumstances has deepened my commitment to providing care that honors the whole person. I bring empathy, authenticity, and a depth-oriented perspective to each session, creating space for you to explore your experiences, reconnect with yourself, and discover your own path toward healing and transformation. I love reading and writing, meditation and other contemplative practices, and studying mythology and spirituality. Gaming is another favorite of mine, especially D&D and MTG, and spending time with my family and my two dogs means a lot to me.

At the heart of my work is the belief that progress begins with a strong, trusting relationship. I offer a client-centered approach that honors your unique experiences, values, and strengths. Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process—it’s a collaborative journey where we work together to identify your goals, uncover patterns, and explore new perspectives. Whether you're navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, or simply seeking greater clarity, my role is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard and supported. Many people seek therapy when they are feeling overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, or struggling to move forward after difficult life experiences. I strive to create a supportive, compassionate space where clients feel comfortable exploring their emotions, building insight, and developing greater confidence in themselves and their relationships. I particularly enjoy working with individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, grief and loss, and major life transitions. My approach to therapy is strengths-based, collaborative, and tailored to each client’s individual needs. I use evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, and solution-focused techniques to help clients better understand patterns in their lives while building practical tools for change and emotional resilience. I have experience working in crisis intervention, addiction recovery, and supporting college students, and I believe therapy can help people reconnect with their own strengths, sense of purpose, and ability to move forward with greater self-awareness and confidence. I hold a Bachelor of Social Work from North Carolina State University and am completing my Master of Social Work at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs with the goal of becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Outside of the office, I enjoy birdwatching, exploring Colorado with my dog and friends, knitting, and finding humor in everyday life. Questions or Need Assistance Booking An Appointment? I was raised in a commune-style farm setting in rural Pennsylvania, and earned my BA from Middlebury College and then my MA in counseling psychology from Lesley College. I am currently pursuing her certificate in Modern Psychoanalysis at the Academy for Clinical and Applied Psychoanalysis in Livingston, NJ. I am a mother of three and a longtime practitioner of yoga, meditation, and Jin Shin Jyutsu (Japanese acupressure). These practices inform my interest in the well-being of the whole person. I provide a safe and comfortable space where you can explore the parts of your life that you value and also the parts you may want to change. My approach is to cultivate a sense of curiosity and kindness while supporting you in saying whatever is on your mind. As we put our thoughts and feelings into words, we tend to grow more comfortable in ourselves, even in the midst of discomfort. We may find ourselves in more positive relationships at home, at school, and at work. We may find more clarity about how we want to live our lives. Whether in person or online, I see the therapeutic process as a catalyst for reflection, exploration, self-understanding, and personal growth. Together, we will work to understand the richness of who you are and resolve whatever is getting in the way of achieving your personal and professional goals.

If you're struggling, I want you to know it doesn't have to be so hard, and you don't have to go it alone. I share a profound respect for your choice to begin therapy, and will provide a non-judgmental space to express yourself. I believe in the power of real human connection. Everyone deserves to feel heard, understood, and valued exactly as they are. My style is warm, client-centered, and grounded in curiosity. Alongside open dialogue, I use evidence-based approaches like ACT and DBT to help you manage anxiety, build stronger coping tools, and navigate life’s curveballs. I work with adults (18+) facing big transitions: starting college, figuring out who you are, exploring relationships and sexuality (including LGBTQ+ identities), or feeling stuck between worlds. As a bisexual therapist and someone who’s moved across cultures, I get what it’s like to question where you belong or how to move forward. I also support clients dealing with health challenges, athletic injuries, sexual health, chronic illness, eating disorders, and body image concerns. Outside of therapy, you’ll find me adventuring in the mountains. I see therapy a lot like a tough hike: challenging, sometimes uncomfortable, but deeply rewarding. I’m honored to walk alongside you as you find your own path.

My work is motivated by my passion for human connection. At Thrive, I offer therapy for both couples and individuals, supporting clients’ inquiry into how they experience their own BELONGING and how they can access more joy and meaning in their relationship with themselves, the ones they love, and the world around them. I earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Naropa University, with a concentration in Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Psychology. My approach to therapy incorporates my training in Gestalt Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for Couples, Internal Family Systems (IFS), as well as her decade of experience in teaching yoga and working outside. I also enjoy incorporating the Enneagram into my work with clients, which can serve as a powerful tool for spiritual and relational development. Though I am not a native speaker, Sydney is bilingual in both English and Spanish and welcomes working with native Spanish speakers who might be yearning for a space to speak both in their therapeutic work. I also have both personal and professional experience working with the impacts of a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and feels passionate about supporting clients who are navigating those challenges.
Sara Graham
I am a licensed clinical social worker who has been providing individual psychotherapy to adolescents and adults for the past 20 years. My therapeutic style can be described as interactive, empathetic, nonjudgmental and gently challenging. I believe that the relationship between the therapist and client is essential to positive, healthy change. It is often the relationship with a supportive and skilled therapist that allows people to talk about and explore issues/struggles that feel too difficult to explore on their own. Because therapy is such a unique and personal journey, therapy is centered on you and your unique needs as we work together to build on your strengths, focus on solutions and develop new skills and insights, to help you achieve the personal growth you are seeking.

My work rests on a profound respect for the human capacity to change as well as a deep appreciation of the impact of emotional pain on the process of living. This perspective emerged from my 25+ years in practice, my formal training, my work at psychiatric hospitals and other facilities, my experience as a supervisor and a teacher, and a life lived as a member of the human species. Although my approach depends on the needs of each individual, I believe the relationship between therapist and client is the foundation for psychotherapy and a window into the client's other relationships, both historical and contemporary. I adopt a collaborative approach to create a safe space in which there is respect for the ways in which individuals have learned to cope with traumatic and painful experiences. Rather than pathologize these currently anachronistic survival strategies, I help clients understand them as creative attempts to cope that may have outlived their usefulness. believe that choosing the right therapist is more than just a matter of credentials and experience. I believe it involves finding someone with whom you have the right "fit." For this reason, I offer initial appointments that are free of charge if you decide not to work with me. I welcome your inquiries.
