Therapists for college students near University of Colorado Boulder
Gen Z and Millennial women are often bombarded with difficult life transitions such as adulting, relationship distress, quarter-life crises, career pursuits, parenting, caregiving, and more. This can be a lot to manage! Societal pressures plus the changing roles of women in this age group require a focused, feminist, and knowledgable approach. It can be tricky searching for the right therapist, so I appreciate you being here in the first place. My approach is fine-tuned, using radical genuineness, to help you learn how to manage these unique stressors while maintaining authenticity and calm. I am practiced in several targeted therapies that meet the needs of women in transition including mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, and ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy). In my personal experience, I have come to view change as the only constant, which is why I find great value in being able to help my clients through significant life transitions. Looking back at the clients I've served over the years, I have been able to find something about every one of them that I admire. I love meeting my clients where they are and seeing how I can support their walk through life in a genuine, non-judgmental, and meaningful way. If this sounds like the right approach for you, feel free to reach out for a phone consult.

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and transgender man whose work centers on understanding how trauma shapes people and supporting healing from those experiences. I also specialize in working with LGBTQ+ clients, offering care that helps people feel seen, affirmed, and understood—often in ways they may not have experienced before. Life is heavy when you are disoriented after leaving a belief system or being alienated and trying to cope while longing for healing when all you want to do is rest. I create a space of safety, curiosity, and genuine connection for people making sense of what they've lived through and the world they now inhabit. Together, we build understanding and gently create more room for relief, peace, and self-trust. It's okay if therapy feels intimidating or confusing, and it's okay if you don't have the right words to begin. If meaning feels distant, your mind won’t quiet, or the past keeps intruding on the present, you’re not alone—and I may be a good fit. Healing doesn’t mean forgetting or fixing what happened. Often, it looks like feeling more at home in yourself, having greater choice in how you respond, and finding moments of steadiness—even when life remains complex.
As a multicultural woman, I not only have personal experience with historical trauma, intergenerational trauma, and women's issues, but I also specialize in grief and loss, sexual assault/violence, suicidality, relationship issues, transitional difficulties, depression, anxiety, identity formation, and more. With experience serving ages 12-adult, I aim to create a safe space to explore an array of different obstacles within the human experience to leave my clients feeling empowered and heard. With a deep personal and professional understanding of social work, social justice, social change, and historical trauma, I align myself in support of the acknowledgement and healing of all Indigenous Peoples, the Black Lives Matter Movement and Black / African American folks as well as many multicultural minoritized individuals and communities experiencing racialized trauma and injustice, as well as the LGBTQIA+ communities continuing to fight every day for equity across systems. I have a well-rounded perspective on spirituality, and challenge myself to do continued allyship work within myself and my practice to show up for the intersections of my clients with a mindfulness around impact, action, and honoring the innate dignity of the whole person.
Life can be brutal, can’t it?! Can you remember that time in life when you were happy, like top of the world scream it from the rooftops happy? In that moment, everything was right in your world and then well, life happened. Now you look back and have so many questions…What happened? Let me tell you, you are not alone! We’ve all been there in some season of life. But who says this can’t make us better! Every person comes to therapy with their own individual needs. Therefore, we adapt our interventions based on a comprehensive assessment of who you are and what you need. We are all trained in a number of different interventions and like to use a combination of our training and expertise to utilize an eclectic approach to best meet the needs of each individual person. We know that every individual is uniquely different and therefore each person should have a unique therapy journey based on their own needs.
Life can feel overwhelming at times, especially when you're navigating stress, anxiety, relationship challenges, or major life transitions. You don't have to face those challenges alone. Therapy offers a space to slow down, gain perspective, and work through what is weighing on you. Together, we will explore your concerns, identify your strengths, and develop tools to help you move forward with greater confidence and clarity. My approach to counseling is warm, collaborative, and client-centered. I believe that each person brings a unique story, set of experiences, and strengths into the counseling process. Because of this, I strive to create a supportive environment where you feel comfortable exploring challenges, gaining insight, and working toward meaningful goals. I work with adults, college students, young adults, couples, athletes, veterans, and older adults. My areas of interest include anxiety, stress management, life transitions, relationship concerns, and personal growth. Hi there! My name is Rachel (she/her), and I specialize in supporting young adults who might be navigating mood and anxiety, identity, OCD and eating disorders. You deserve a nonjudgmental space where you can show up fully, explore your identity, strengths and challenges, and above all, be seen and validated. If transportation is a barrier or you resonate with a less formal approach to therapy, I offer community-based, in-home and outdoor therapy options as well.
I founded Keshet Counseling to support individuals who often feel overlooked or misunderstood in traditional therapy spaces. My work is especially meaningful to those navigating the complexities of chronic illness, such as Lyme Disease, Mold Toxicity, MCAS, and other invisible disabilities, as well as those facing antisemitism or discrimination for not aligning with political or institutional expectations. I also work closely with teens and adults dealing with antisemitism, narcissistic abuse, multicultural identity issues, codependency, love addiction, grief, anxiety, relationship issues, and trauma. My approach is rooted in body centered somatic psychology using mindfulness. We’ll explore unconscious beliefs and patterns shaping your experience by noticing whats happening for you in this moment. I hold a humanistic view of healing: I believe you are already whole, worthy, and deeply capable of transformation. My role is to help reconnect you to your own inner knowing, and I view our relationship as a collaborative space where your voice and wisdom lead the way. I don’t believe there’s something wrong with you, rather, what happened to you.
If anxiety, intrusive thoughts, OCD, phobias or depressive thoughts take up too much space in your life, I will work with you to uncover their sources. You can establish and engage in useful coping skills that will allow you to spend less time battling your thoughts and more time living the life you want. If you're a couple struggling with relationship concerns, I will work with you to restore harmony in your relationship and strengthen your connection. I aim to provide a safe, warm and non-judgmental environment for my clients to explore their emotions, while also feeling comfortable and validated when sharing experiences, thoughts and behaviors. I practice using evidence-based modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RO-DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), as well as self-compassion and mindfulness techniques. Gottman Method Couples Therapy informs my work with couples. If you choose therapy as a next step, I would be honored to work with you and support you in your journey of self-growth and healing! As a trauma-informed therapist, my work centers on identity, healing, and relational transformation for adults working to reclaim clarity, autonomy, and emotional wellness. Whether you're navigating coercive relationships, trauma, identity loss, or a major life transition, this is a space where your experiences are genuinely understood and validated. Many of the people I work with are seeking emotional safety, healthier relationships, and a stronger sense of self after experiencing emotionally harmful dynamics, including divorce, narcissistic abuse, domestic violence, cult experiences, or religious and spiritual trauma. These are experiences that can be difficult to put into words, and you deserve a therapist who not only understands them but can help you make sense of what you've been through. At the heart of my approach is a deep belief in our innate human need to be authentic and free. That belief shapes how I show up for you, as a supportive, grounding presence dedicated to helping you reclaim your life, your identity, and your autonomy. Collaboration, curiosity, and a deep respect for your autonomy shape the way I work with you. Every session is built on a foundation of trust and honesty, in a space that is warm, nonjudgmental, and genuinely supportive of wherever you are in your journey. Using relational and trauma-informed approaches, we'll work together to help you better understand and reconnect with yourself, process painful experiences, and build healthier patterns in your relationships and daily life. I tailor everything to your unique needs and goals, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all framework. What matters most is that you feel genuinely seen, especially in experiences that others may not fully understand. Coercive control, emotional abuse, and relational trauma are areas I'm particularly drawn to and well-versed in. For many people, simply feeling validated in these experiences is a meaningful first step. My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by both personal and professional experiences that showed me, firsthand, how profoundly relationships and social influence shape our emotional well-being and sense of self. These experiences didn't just inform my clinical focus — they deepened my commitment to creating a therapeutic space where people feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported. Warmth, insight, and an authentic relational presence are what I bring to every session. This work is not just a career; it's a calling rooted in a genuine desire to walk alongside you as you find your way back to yourself. Outside of sessions, you'll often find me reading, writing, or diving into investigative journalism. Hobbies that keep me both curious and grounded. Hiking offers a different kind of reset, one that connects me to the world in a way that carries over into how I show up for the people I work with.
College can bring a lot: new freedom, pressure to succeed, and the stress of figuring out who you are and where you are headed. Many of the students I work with feel weighed down by anxiety, burnout, overthinking, imposter syndrome, or the pressure to be perfect. Others are coping with ADHD, past/current trauma, anxiety and social anxiety or just the everyday stress of classes, relationships, and big transitions. With 12 years of experience working in university counseling centers, I have a deep understanding of the unique challenges of college and graduate students' lives. In our work together, you will find a supportive space to talk honestly about what is on your mind, learn coping tools to manage stress, and feel more grounded and confident. My goal is to help you feel less alone and more able to handle the challenges of college life.
