Hi! I am a licensed outpatient mental health counselor with a community mental health background, and work primarily from young/emerging adulthood to middle adulthood. I have experience working with complex trauma, as well as challenges associated with emerging adulthood, gaining independence, and setting personal goals for growth. Additionally, I enjoy providing support to other mental health clinicians seeking services themselves. I offer one-on-one outpatient therapy using a variety of modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), attachment-based therapy, and more. I view my work through trauma-informed and culturally-informed lenses. Building rapport and a trusting therapeutic relationship is of utmost importance in order for treatment to be most effective. My approach to therapy is active, relational, and result-oriented, encouraging clients to take hold of their life and find the meaning life holds for them. I work with individuals, couples, and families to address concerns with relationships, identity, intimacy and sexuality, and spirituality, in addition to general psychological problems. I serve as Director of Cambridge Counseling Associates and have served as lecturer and clinical instructor in psychology at Harvard Medical School for more than twenty years, in addition to serving on the Advisory Board of the Dr. Phil Show, where I have participated since its inception. Therapy opens the door to a rewarding process for personal freedom, growth, and fulfillment by understanding and changing patterns and routines that may have made you feel stuck, unproductive, and unhappy. My goal is to help you experience your true self to fully engage your life. (See drchirban.com or cambridgecounseling.com) My specializations include relationships, sexuality, and spirituality. I also assist individuals and families working through divorce and serve as a Guardian ad litem for the State of Massachusetts. I am a master’s-level clinician supporting adults across the lifespan navigating a variety of life challenges, including anxiety, depression, identity exploration, self-criticism, and relationship concerns. I work with adults who often feel stuck, uncertain, or challenged by life circumstances, guiding them to explore their experiences, recognize patterns, and move towards a more meaningful and authentic life. My work is grounded in mindfulness, values, and identity. I primarily draw from ACT and existential therapy and integrate elements of EFT, narrative and psychodynamic therapy, and positive psychology. We examine patterns with curiosity and compassion, while developing practical skills and strategies to better navigate thoughts, emotions, and relationships. I aim to create a collaborative and supportive space where therapy is centered on your experiences and what matters most to you. Together, we explore new perspectives, deepen self-awareness, and experiment with approaches that help you navigate challenges with curiosity, intention, and a greater sense of purpose.

I am a short-term therapist who works specifically with clients with chronic health conditions. Over the course of 20 sessions, we learn all about what is happening in your body and brain, learn and practice coping skills to manage anxiety related to your chronic medical condition, and have the option to complete hypnotherapy for chronic illness as well. If you are struggling with mental health related to a chronic health condition, and especially if you are experiencing high amounts of anxiety and low quality of life related to health symptoms, you will be a great fit for what I provide. If you have never done therapy before, or if you have found that your current therapist doesn’t quite “get it,” and you’re hoping to work with someone that has an intimate knowledge of chronic illness and hospital systems, then you will be a great fit. I also work alongside your full-time therapist if you have a therapist you love and would like to stay with while we complete our work together. I am also a good fit for someone who is specifically seeking out an LGBTQ therapist. I only offer virtual therapy at this time.

As a therapist, I specialize in supporting young adults and couples as they navigate life’s transitions, relationships, and challenges. My client-centered approach explores root causes while building practical coping skills for daily life. Using a trauma-informed lens, I integrate yoga-based mindfulness and somatic practices to support nervous system regulation and deeper healing. Psychodynamic and narrative therapy help us understand how your worldview was shaped and how it influences your present. We may also incorporate IFS based parts work to gently explore and understand the different parts of your inner experience. With training in the Gottman Method, I help couples strengthen communication, connection, and trust. Together we focus on deepening friendship while managing the practical demands of partnership. You’ll learn tools for healthy conflict resolution and collaboration, remembering you are on the same team. I am committed to creating a nonjudgmental, compassionate space where you feel safe and supported. I understand that beginning therapy can feel intimidating, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. I invite you to schedule a free 15-minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit.

If you are struggling with emotional issues, stressful life experiences or feel a sense of disconnection, connecting with a therapist can help to alleviate your suffering. With me you will be able to explore difficult thoughts and feelings, challenge patterns and behaviors that might not be serving you or reflect on your relationships in a safe and supportive space. I care about the relationship I establish with my clients, am warm and compassionate and enjoy working collaboratively. My approach to counseling is holistic and grounded in the belief that our mind and body are one. Emotions live in the body as well as the brain. Along with traditional verbal psychotherapy I often integrate body-centered and creative arts therapy. My training allows me to use a variety of evidenced-based counseling theories to support your individual needs. I enjoy working with individuals to increase positive feelings such as self-esteem, feel more connected, learn strategies to handle difficult situations, build resilience, and become more self-aware to affect change and improve quality of life.

At times in our lives we need additional support to navigate challenges and strengthen our internal capacity to cope. Together we will strive to understand your unique story and identify areas you want to work on in our meetings. Often this means increasing your awareness of patterns, understanding your own emotional responses, and strengthening coping skills. My style as a therapist is collaborative, relational, and strengths based. I use multiple treatment modalities including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which is a treatment that facilitates healing from emotional distress from difficult life experiences, as well as solution focused and cognitive behavioral techniques. It is a great privilege as a therapist to walk with others on their path toward growth and healing. I hope we can work togethe

Hi there! I’m Eric, and I provide therapy online (by video) to clients located anywhere in Massachusetts. I have immediate openings, and offer a free 15-minute video consultation so that we can meet each other and make sure it seems like a fit as far as what you’re looking for and what I offer. I often work with college students seeking support around depression, anxiety, isolation, trauma, and a variety of life stressors and transitions. My specialties include bereavement/grief, substance use, LGBTQ+ identity, people who have experienced domestic violence, impacts of oppression, and musicians facing performance-related anxiety. Additionally, I offer assessments and letter writing for people in need of a letter of support from a mental health professional for gender-affirming surgeries. Getting the right psychiatric medication, and truly optimizing it, takes more than a prescription. My background as a psychotherapist sets my medication management approach apart: I bring a clinician's understanding of the whole person to every prescribing decision- comprehensive assessments, attentive follow-up, and genuine partnership as we work toward getting you feeling better as soon as possible. My experience spans community health, universities, private practice, and leading medical centers including McLean Hospital and MGH. I specialize in medication management for adults navigating depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and PTSD. I have advanced training serving LGBTQIA+ populations and I’m a member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health. Being a university student can be both an exciting and extremely overwhelming time in your life. Your college years are full of transitions which often come with a sense of uncertainty. Seeking support in therapy can be the first step to re-gaining a sense of control and a hope in the possibility of change. My clients often face challenges related to life transitions in employment, relationships, family life, and education. They also seek support in navigating the daily struggles of life, from the stress of media consumption to confronting the debilitating impacts of oppressive systems. I also work with clients facing existential dread, including death anxiety, as well as those dealing with illness, end-of-life issues, and bereavement, whether personally or supporting a loved one. My therapeutic style is open, empathic, and down to earth. Building a safe and trusting connection is a crucial piece of the therapy process. My approach is existential and highly relational, highlighting the importance of both the right "fit" in the therapeutic relationship and exploring how you fit into the world. Through my years of practice, I've seen how self-compassion, deep connection, and finding a sense of purpose contribute significantly to one's well-being. I will support you in your search for greater meaning, emotional awareness and empowerment in a world that can be overwhelming and isolating.

If you’ve been feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or just not like yourself lately, you’re not alone. Maybe you’re the one who always holds it together for everyone else, but inside, you're running on empty. Maybe you’re constantly second-guessing yourself or struggling to say no, even when you're burned out. Or maybe you're in the middle of a big life change and everything feels uncertain or heavier than you expected. You may be wanting to better understand yourself, set boundaries, and start living in a way that actually feels good-not just "good enough." My approach is trauma-informed, compassion-focused, and grounded in somatic and IFS principles. That means we’ll not only talk about what’s going on, but also gently tune into what your body, emotions, and inner parts are holding. I believe that healing happens when we feel safe and connected enough to really listen to ourselves with our whole being. You can expect a space where you don’t have to perform or minimize the parts of you that have felt too much, messy, or confusing. This work is about coming home to yourself. You don’t have to do it alone. If this resonates, I’d be honored to walk alongside you. Reach out when you’re ready—we’ll take it from there, together.
