People often struggle with feelings of sadness, anxiety, and emotional responses they do not understand. Counseling can be very helpful in identifying the source of these symptoms and undoing negative effects of previous life events. . I find great fulfillment in helping individuals to gain a better understanding of who they are at their core as well as how past events and circumstances have affected them in order to move towards genuine healing. One of the most important aspects of therapy that I am committed to is creating a safe space for all individuals. Therefore, I operate from a very open-minded standpoint and I am accustomed to addressing issues relevant among diverse populations. I have had the privilege of working with individuals of various ethnic backgrounds, faiths and spiritual orientations, gender identities, and sexual orientations. All are appreciated for their unique backgrounds and personal qualities and all are welcome!

Why does insight alone, not lead to congruence between what you want and what you do? This is a question we would explore together. My areas of interest and experience include anxiety and depression, relationship difficulties, behavioral change through healthy habits, mindfulness, and exploring interpersonal struggles. We can focus on what resonates with you, work within any of life's domains where we believe change is possible, and go inward with mindfulness to sit with the parts of our realities that are beyond our control. Focusing on what we can control, however, is often the way forward.
Prior to Covid-19 I began working with telehealth and moved towards seeing everyone from their own home to remove the barrier of the commute. Additionally I see people living in rural areas for specific needs such as gender dysphoria. My experience includes addressing trauma/PTSD, substance use/abuse and recovery, anxiety, depression, transgender and gender dysphoria, and LGBTQ+ issues for adolescents and adults as an ally. You can easily request and schedule our first appointment or phone consultation by reaching out today - preferably by email.

It takes courage to start this process. I’m proud of you for being here and for recognizing that your mental health is a priority. Modern humans have existed on earth for about 200,000 years, while the modern office (and many other stressors in our lives) emerged less than 200 years ago. We really are in uncharted waters. With such a minuscule amount of human history lived under these conditions, it is no surprise that so many of us struggle to make our way. Everyone deserves to have someone in their corner. Everyone deserves to aspire, achieve, dream, thrive, and rest. The miracle of the therapeutic relationship is not just that relief is possible, but that we are active participants in deciding how that looks for ourselves. Together, we hold space to elevate your experience and to discover and endeavor towards your goals. Taking what resonates with you (and setting aside what doesn't), we can work within any of life's domains where we believe change is possible, and can go inward with acceptance and mindfulness to sit with the parts of our realities that are beyond our control. At the risk of sounding cliche - trying therapy is a brave act in a challenging world. Goodness of fit is a valid concern, and you deserve to find a therapist that will work for you! Get in touch today, and we can schedule a 15-minute phone call to explore working together.
The shift from being a teenager to an adult can feel pretty overwhelming. It’s easy to feel like you’re the only one who doesn’t have everything figured out, especially when it seems like everyone else has it all together. You’re probably dealing with a lot—leaving home, becoming more independent, and figuring out how your relationships with family are changing. Feeling stuck or uncertain is normal, but it can also bring on feelings of anxiety, low self-worth, and even depression. And leaving home often opens up the space to finally face things in your family life that might have been too hard to address before. I’m here to support you through these transitions, helping you build confidence and see things in a more hopeful light. We’ll work together to set realistic goals that feel good for you, giving yourself the grace you need while creating a clear plan for what’s next. I’ll guide you to tap into your inner strength, uncover what truly matters to you, and help you access the resources you need. Through various therapeutic techniques, we’ll work on healing, managing emotions, and learning how to communicate your needs in a healthy way.

“Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone.” -Fred Rogers Our experiences throughout life shape us in many ways. I work with individuals to empower them to better understand themselves, and the ways in which they manage life’s hardships, as stress and trauma are often unavoidable experiences of life. I am a trauma-focused mental health therapist, who believes that everyone has their own unique strengths for surviving and thriving through life’s ups and downs. My approach to therapy is strengths-based and attachment-focused. I value building a therapeutic alliance, and my intention is to have each individual feel heard and supported in our time together. I strive to promote a healing environment using active listening, sensitivity, and non-judgmental compassion for everyone’s unique situation.
