Do you feel stuck in anxiety, self-doubt, or emotional patterns that seem bigger than the present moment? Often, early experiences and relational wounds shape how we cope long after the moment has passed. When big feelings start affecting our daily life and relationships, it can feel exhausting and isolating. Whether I’m working with a child, a teen, or a young adult, my goal is the same: to create a safe, supportive space where big feelings are welcomed. Together we work toward deeper healing, not just temporary relief. Using insight-oriented exploration with practical tools, I help clients navigate challenges with anxiety, depression, identity development, and trauma. Therapy with me focuses on understanding the “why” behind your patterns while building skills that create real, lasting change. If you’re ready to feel calmer, more confident, and more understood, schedule a consultation today. Let’s talk about what’s happening and what support could look like through meaningful growth.

Hello! I am a proud Hispanic Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience in the social service field and 3 years practicing therapy. At True North ATX Counseling, I help teens and young adults who feel anxious, stuck, or unsure of their direction find clarity and confidence. Many of my clients are figuring out who they are, managing school stress, navigating relationships, or trying to break free from perfectionism and self-doubt. My approach is warm, supportive, and down-to-earth—I use humor often, because sometimes laughter helps us see things more clearly and makes the hard stuff a little easier to face. Welcome! I am excited to meet you and work with you. I love working with college students. This is such a special time in your life. Transitioning from home, into college and into the workforce can be exciting but stressful. Many struggle with homesickness, stress from academics, problems with social adjustment or time management. Or just simply suddenly dealing with depression, anxiety, or past trauma that finally needs to be addressed. No matter the issues, I am here to help.

Everyone tells you that college is the best time in your life and to enjoy it because it flies by. But what people don’t tell you is all the challenges that it can bring. Maybe it’s the first time you are away from your family and friends from home. It can also bring many challenges with pressure to drink or use drugs, navigating friendships and dating in a more complicated way, and figuring out what you want to do with the rest of your life. You might be in a position where in order to afford school you need to work on top of doing well in all your classes. I know personally how challenging, yet exciting, this time can be, and I am here to tell you that you don’t need to figure it all out on your own or even right now. Are you ready to enjoy your college experience, be fully present in the great moments without feeling stresses weighing you down everyday? It’s time to feel a sense of relief, confidence in who you are, and in your decisions. Together, we can make your life feel lighter and free up space for everything else you have going on! My Approach: I am a strong believer in the power of relationships. Having someone to talk to can increase our sense of happiness and positivity, and most importantly let us know that we are not alone. Life has many ups and downs, but it's what you do with them that matters. I am here to help you transform the tough moments into growth. Therapy with me looks like an open dialogue, where we both respect each other's point of view and collaborate to find solutions that help you overcome what’s been holding you back. We can talk about anything, no matter how hard it is to share. Whether it’s the good things or the bad, I am ready to hold space for even the strongest emotions that come up, because I know we can work through it together. I believe in a holistic approach to therapy that not only looks at your thoughts and feelings, but also how your environment, your cultural experiences, close relationships, and health, affect your mental wellbeing. We’ll use a variety of therapeutic techniques to best fit what you need, because therapy is not a one size fits all approach. We’ll make sure that those techniques are really working for you. It might be practicing mindfulness or trying out different coping skills to help things feel less overwhelming. Our approach will continue to grow as our therapeutic relationship develops. I know that therapy is not always easy, but I am here to support you each step of the way and I will always accept you for how you are in that moment, even the hard ones. A Little About Me: I went into undergrad undecided and had a hard time knowing what I wanted to do. I knew that I wanted to do something to help people and I wanted a career that I would enjoy. I always felt behind in some way because I didn’t know what I wanted to do right away. I have learned that a lot of people have a unique path to get to where they are. I worked as a school social worker for 8 years before private practice and that is when I really knew I loved counseling and wanted to continue on this path. I have lived in the Chicago area for most of my life and love the city! You can find me by the lake or exploring all the city has to offer. My hobbies are all over the place and include a mixture of baking, triathlons, knitting, going on long walks and finding the best matcha. I also love traveling (but hate flying) and have an ever growing list of places I want to visit.

Many of the clients I work with are navigating big transitions, starting college, living away from home for the first time, or trying to figure out what comes after college. Some feel overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, or self-doubt. Others are dealing with relationship changes, family dynamics, burnout, or just feeling stuck. If you're someone who feels like you're supposed to have it all figured out, but secretly don’t, I get it. We will work together to sort through the noise, understand what’s getting in your way, and build tools that help you feel more steady and in control. My approach is down-to-earth, supportive, and built around what matters to you. You don’t have to have a diagnosis or a big crisis to start therapy. If something’s weighing on you, let's talk about it and strategize your success.

I help clients better understand what’s holding them back and develop practical skills that support meaningful, lasting change. What makes my practice unique is a strong emphasis on goal-setting and progress. I work with clients who want more than insight alone, they want to see change reflected in their daily lives and relationships. My approach to therapy is collaborative, intentional, and practical. I believe therapy works best when clients feel actively involved in the process and leave sessions with insight they can apply in real life. Please use my website to book an appointment.

Trauma is not a one size fits all experience. I am a licensed professional counselor with a passion to create a safe, warm, and inviting environment for individuals to openly express life struggles and challenges that presents as traumatic experiences. That environment is a judgement free space where the individual can feel heard and seen. I have worked with individuals and groups aged 6 years old up to 65+ within the community, schools, churches, their home settings, and within private practice offices. Individuals who engage in therapy can expect to take away understanding and hope. This understanding of how to cope or manage their mental health stimulates hope that "YES! I can!"

I am a relational therapist integrating Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and somatic-informed practices. Virtual sessions. Flexible availability including evenings and weekends. Discounted rates when requested. My speciality areas include: - Grief (Infertility, loss of a loved one, breakups, unfulfilled goals) - Burnout - Complex Family Dynamics - Life Transitions (Motherhood, Career Changes) - Attachment trauma - Pressure that come with a high-demand career My approach to therapy is collaborative and follows a thoughtful process. Together, we explore the roots of your feelings. Often, feelings point to underlying needs, so you and I identify the unmet need your feelings may be drawing attention to. Understanding your feelings is foundational, yet insight alone does not always guide lasting change. Next, we intentionally support your mind and body to process and release emotional tension. Throughout this process, I create a supportive, trusting space where your nervous system can feel secure and you can explore your authentic self. I strive to meet clients where they are, walking alongside them with kindness, empathy, presence, and unwavering commitment to their well-being. I value respectful, kind, direct communication. When requested, I provide Christian counseling, integrating Scripture and the Gospel in a God-honoring space. I'm here to support whatever goals you have for yourself. Emily Keck, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Texas under the supervision of Casey Davids, LPC-S and LPCA in Kentucky under supervision of Erica Adams, LPCC-S.
