I'm Shantel, owner of West Rose Therapy & Consultation, LLC. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and both a Master’s and Ph.D. in Social Work. I work with adults and young adults navigating depression, anxiety, healing from past or present trauma, or managing challenging life transitions. I’m licensed to provide mental health services in Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, and Michigan, offering all clinical services via telehealth to ensure clients can access care in a comfortable and convenient way. As a clinician, my expertise lies in trauma, and I am trained in a variety of evidence-informed modalities to help clients achieve their goals. I recognize that each client's lived experience is unique. So, I adapt my approach to best meet their specific needs. My primary aim is to offer a pathway to healing and growth for those who seek my assistance. To that end, I work with my clients to establish a restorative relationship, while providing a safe and supportive environment to aid and empower them to overcome life's challenges.
“Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone.” -Fred Rogers Our experiences throughout life shape us in many ways. I work with individuals to empower them to better understand themselves, and the ways in which they manage life’s hardships, as stress and trauma are often unavoidable experiences of life. I am a trauma-focused mental health therapist, who believes that everyone has their own unique strengths for surviving and thriving through life’s ups and downs. My approach to therapy is strengths-based and attachment-focused. I value building a therapeutic alliance, and my intention is to have each individual feel heard and supported in our time together. I strive to promote a healing environment using active listening, sensitivity, and non-judgmental compassion for everyone’s unique situation.
There isn’t a one size “fix” all package for mental health. What works for one; may not work for another. I will be the first one to tell you that I am not the expert in your pain, your life, or your journey. You are. I am simply here to walk alongside you and be a resource for your growth. I believe one of the hardest and bravest things you can do for yourself, is to not only understand your story, but to continue growing from it. As a therapist, it is my goal to help others help themselves and is a motto I have lived by for years now and hope to incorporate this daily with my clients. It is not my role nor my desire to tell you how to live your life; rather, how you can get through some of those hard times, a little less scathed. From my personal experience, working with a therapist that practices empathy, listening, and building trust has helped me through some very dark times. It is my hope to practice these with every person I come into contact with. However small a role I can play in your growth and journey would be an honor. - www.speakeasygr.com (Speak;Easy Mental Wellness)

Hi, I'm Dr. Ana Hill. As a counseling psychologist, my priority is to listen deeply to my clients and become attuned to their unique stories and experiences. I consider myself to be a nonjudgmental and creative therapist who helps people explore and process dynamics in their lives that may be causing them to feel stuck, in emotional pain, or uncertain of how to heal. Our work together would be informed by a multicultural and self-compassionate framework that provides a safe, warm, and confidential space to foster greater awareness of yourself and your surroundings. I combine interpersonal, psychodynamic, and emotion-focused approaches to treat a range of issues including depression, stress and anxiety, relationship/intimacy issues, life transitions, family challenges, self-esteem, identity development, and trauma. I also have a passion for working with neurodiverse, LGBTQ+, and BIPOC clients. I know that it can be hard to find a therapist that is a good fit. As a first step, I like to connect by phone or video to get to know what you're looking for and answer any questions you may have. I look forward to getting to know you! Another value I hold is acknowledging the complexity and richness of each individual's intersecting identities is a crucial aspect of fostering understanding and connection in therapy, specifically for individuals with minoritized and marginalized intersecting identities. I try to create empathetic and culturally sensitive therapeutic spaces for clients. Therapy can be a valuable resource for those seeking support and understanding, especially when facing the challenges and complexities of daily life. If you have specific questions or concerns about therapy or mental health support, feel free to ask, and I'll do my best to provide information and guidance.

My heart for hurting people was birthed out of my own journey of experiencing healing from trauma, abuse and loss. I am convinced that all of us are created with a potential for incredible resilience and with the right kind of compassionate support, we can bounce back from the worst of circumstances. I grew up in India and after moving to the US in 2001, received a M.A. in Professional Counseling from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. Over the last 2 decades, I have enjoyed working with children and adults in various settings such as schools, women's shelters, colleges, churches and private practice. In my spare time I enjoy traveling, hiking, biking, kayaking, camping, cooking and enjoying conversations over a good meal with friends and family.
I believe in empowering individuals to take control of their health. I have a deep belief in the ability for you to overcome difficulties. As a therapist, I believe, you are the expert in your experience and it is my role to provide a safe, understanding, and non-judgemental space for you to heal, grow, and move into a new way of being and feeling. But that doesn’t mean you have to figure everything out on your own–we will work together. I am here to support you in your healing journey. Collaboratively, we will set goals on both what you want to achieve and things that you want to rid from your life. Burying or ignoring our pain may feel like the only way we can move past them. In reality, painful things that happen to us can continue to impact our ability to maintain and develop healthy relationships, as well as our overall physical and mental health. Difficult circumstances may even alter the way we view ourselves and the world around us; making us seem like we aren’t “worthy” or a “good person.” I am here to help you regain the sense of who you want to be in the world and to free yourself of negative views of yourself. You are meant to thrive and I am here to support you until you get to where you want to be. Maybe you don’t know what you want to do with your life at this point. Perhaps a relationship has gone sour, you found out that the degree you received or the job you have is not what you want. Therapy can help you figure out your next steps and change the path you have been on. I have experience working with both men and women of diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. In addition, I have worked with survivors of domestic violence, sexual abuse, and childhood trauma. I have a great deal of passion for working with people who want to boost their self-esteem. I have a great deal of knowledge on how to help resolve intimacy issues in relationships and also with one’s self. I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy for treating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Depression. I have a strong conviction to help serve the LGBTQ+ community as well as experience and resources.
Life is hard enough. Don't do it alone. You're exhausted. You're tired of faking it. You just need space. You're feeling stuck. And maybe a little unsure about beginning therapy. At River Oaks Psychology, we get it. We’ve been there. We all have hard things to figure out. We want you to be unapologetic. Yell, scream, cry, swear, vent, share your deepest secrets, whatever – we'll ALWAYS accept you and care about you. We strongly believe there is often no more profound experience than being heard, understood, and accepted. So we'll listen and accept who YOU (authentically) are – always. Let's talk and work through the hard stuff together. We provide online therapy for anyone in Michigan. Get cozy in your home. No driving. No traffic. Private. HIPAA-compliant. Confidential. If you have a cell phone, tablet, or computer of any kind, you can talk to us. And no, we won't judge you if you're in pajamas. We want you to be comfortable. We are here for YOU.
I don’t believe that any one modality of therapy works best for everybody. I believe in getting to know my client, understanding what works and does not work for them, and keeping an open line of communication with what is and isn’t helping. That is how I believe the best treatment and treatment planning occurs: when both parties are able to honestly express their thoughts on the treatment process and are willing to explore different avenues in order to bring about the most healing. I believe in person-centered care. I believe in helping a client feel comfortable, welcome, and safe when they are in therapy, and I strive to be a positive support for them. Without my personal life’s experiences with pain, anxiety, depression, and a multitude of other struggles, I know I would not be the therapist that I am today. I believe that I have a large amount of empathy for individuals who go through these types of struggles, and I feel that I can help them not only from a professional level, but also from a human-being to another human-being level. The human experience is not always an easy one to go through. It is my pleasure and privilege to help individuals walk through their struggles and to let them know that they are not alone. By providing them with support, empathy, techniques for success and a safe place to come each week, I believe that I can be a part of the healing in a clients life and that is one of the greatest blessings that I could ever think of participating in.
Hi, I’m Matt. Often, getting started with a trusted therapist can be the most challenging hurdle to overcome. If you are here, then you have already taken your first step. I am proud of you, but more importantly, you should be proud of yourself. No matter where your journey takes you, know that you do not have to walk it alone. My goal is to provide a safe and welcoming environment for all people. I also place great importance on developing a mutual sense of trust, as I believe trust is the key to building a healthy therapeutic relationship. I believe that therapy is a safe and non-judgmental place for clients to explore what is most important to them. It is important to me to relate to clients as whole people, who are much more than the concerns they bring to session, but people with unique identities, experiences, relationships, communities, and strengths. Keeping all of these in mind helps me offer personalized guidance, support, and perspective that ultimately serves client’s own goals. It is truly an honor to witness these various facets of individuals, and I am dedicated to bringing the warmth, respect, and support that clients deserve in turn. My past experiences have been in community settings working with women diverted from the criminal justice system for substance use disorder treatment and working with people with severe and persistent mental illness. Outside of the mental health/behavioral health field, I have experience supporting elderly persons with dementia and doing research with chronic pain populations along with LGBTQ+ populations.
I work with all individuals age 18 and older if any gender. My practice focuses mainly on anxiety and depression, but I have a lot of experience in addiction. I’ve also worked with chronic pain, some trauma and have access for referral to trauma specialists. I am wanting to help in crisis situations and I personally am available for short term pro bono.
